redjam
This has been bugging me since we moved here. It's a hairdressers on Uplands Road, and I've become obsessed with trying to work out whether the name is some kind of pun. I am too embarrassed to go in and ask in case I'm missing an obvious reference. Put me out of my misery, someone! Zebedee Tring
Talking of solicitors, there's a firm in Nottingham called Rupert Bear & Co. And the senior partner of a London firm is called Ashley Badcock; you can just imagine a Julian Clary joke about him. Zebedee Tring
My mother had a friend who had married into the Cockshutt family. Amazingly the first name of one of the friend's brothers-in-law was Dick. Michael Palaeologus
I think that Dwayne Pipe had alot of friends because one of my colleagues went to school with him. Apparently "Pipe" was not his original surname, but his mother remarried Mr Pipe and the rest is history. Brendan
I used to play water polo with an Afrikaans guy whose name was Isaak (which is Afrikaans for Isaac). Anyway the traditional way of abbreviating the name is: ?Sakie ? which is pronounced ?Sucky?. The problem was (or still is I suppose) that his surname was De Kok.
