The other bob does pop up now and then, as does his missus. I've met them in the pub and they're very nice.

Going back to the emoticon thing, I am trying not to use them so much, especially the ";-)". The main reason I do though is because I have been caught out before saying something I meant totally as a joke, and ending up having to convince a female friend that I wasn't interested in her in "that way". Sometimes it helps to just chuck a ;-) in.
