The first load got lost when my they were sent back to Jamaica. The guy they sent them with lost his luggage (bloody BWIA) and the second lot went astray when my Parents moved house. :'(

Mine was to do with aparently the chemical imbalance the presence of his particular(little swimmers) created in a certain part of my anatomy, although I have asked him whether or not he is a meths drinker since lol! The doctor said I'd just have to use condoms and reintroduce them at little stages every now and then to see if I can get used to him, don't see this one lasting long though! I accused him of having an STD the first time weird things started happening! and went to the local GMU clinic for a thorough check up! and no I am not elaborating! This was also caused by the severe lack of activity in that region as well! and then trying to make up for lost time! lol
I saw Bob Marley & Johnny Nash perform at my school (Peckham Manor School for boys) in 70 or 71 ( can't remember which) before anyone knew who he was. And I got Bob's autograph. Well pleased. I'm also a vinyl record dealer and collector (since 1970) in my spare time.

I used to love John Cravens' Newsround!! When I saw Bob, I remember being surprised by how small he was. I was only 14 or so at the time and he was the same height as me. The school was especially proud of the visit and it was duly reported in the South London Press. I'll have to check if the SLP archive goes back that far , because I'm sure they featured some photos taken in the playground of Johnny and Bob kicking a football around.

I have two uncles who were christened with the name Mary.

All infants born in the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin in the 1940's whose parents were undecided regarding their names, were entered into the birth register as "Mary" - male and female. My mammy says that "it was so The Blessed Virgin would protect them."

Brendan my majesty, (that doesnt sound right, what do you call an irish king? "feckin edjiit"?) you going to the forum night out so I can buy my king a pint? heheheh

sadly I have nothing remotely unique to add about myself.

I did once say in a new job and we were having an enforced circle thing where everyone had to stand up and introduce themselves and my thing that I was talented at was Ironing. heheh couldnt think of anything at the time because I found it all so banal. Everyone thought I was a right weirdo for a while after that.

    • Missing Cat! 11 months old/ Our friend, Coco, has gone missing. Last seen evening of 31st October near top of Henslowe rd where it meets Underhill Rd in SE22. We know she has started wandering up Friern Rd and further we guess but we imagine she has been spooked by Halloween / Fireworks goings on. She is a grey Siberian mix with some brown stripes down her, very friendly and likes to eat. Please let us know
    • That said, organised displays could be on Saturday before and after and the actual day, and private ones could just not have the loud ones.  It’s all down to accessibility and people caring/not caring
    • The problem this year is that 5th November falls on a Wednesday. So some places will be bringing their "bonfire night" forward to Saturday 1st and some will be knocking it back to Saturday 8th and there'll probably be a few that just go with Wednesday 5th anyway. If you're doing a public display, having it on a weekend gets more crowds. Which basically means a solid week of fireworks.
    • Fireworks in this area do feel totally incessant at this time of year, almost every evening there is terrible noise. I feel great concern for wildlife, pets (I have a senior cat who hates them), as well as people who struggle with PTSD etc. Last year I even had people setting them off in front of my home. Tonight and yesterday evening have been particularly bad. Is there anything we can do as a community to prevent this? What action can we take? Surely we shouldn’t be expected to just put up with it every year for weeks on end!
