pebs
Shame it's the CPT that might be going and not the run down, dodgy at times, Castle (which could be great though if it had a makeover....). Emilinska
I am so so fond of the CPT, and do worry about its fate. It's the only proper local pub left! No pretensions to being a hotel lobby or suchlike (Clockhouse take note), just nice staff and an agreeable atmosphere. As Ant said, not much not needs changing other than structural stuff.I did go into the Castle once Pebs (a long time ago), and it was a bit scary. Agree the building has potential though. MrBen
A magical mystical thing has happened in East Dulwich.Somehow, seemingly in the middle of the night, the paint fairy has bestowed upon the CPT a fetching shade of GREEN. I have had to look at that shitty purple flaking paint out my front window for 5 years. It feels like I've moved house.I thank the lord! Now stick a juke box in the back and pick up the 72 clientele. GENIUS. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2510-what-is-to-become-of-the-cpt/page/5/#findComment-102004 Share on other sites
Keef
Absolutely agree it needed doing, but not sure I like the colour... Was struggling to focus on anything on Sunday when I saw it though. jimbo1964
The green looks fine I think. The flaking purple was very sad indeed.. stuck at work and gasping for a pint just thinking about it. annaj
I like the green. I wonder if the new look will help sell the flats in (finally completed and rather grandly titled) 'Palace View' opposite. ojm
> (finally completed and rather grandly titled) 'Palace View'Must admit I laughed so hard when I saw this! Appreciate the building trade is going through a tough time at the moment, but the name smacks of sheer desperation! TillieTrotter
Well they may not know Hona, but I do! Being one of the few remaining smokers left in the world, I would have liked a more pleasant vista :)-Dis all I'm saying. MrBen
Believe me - my vista is already more pleasant!I'm lucky to have a good boozer on my doorstep and can walk across in my PJ's for a pint. Now that it's posh green I may have to actually put some clothes on.An leave my dirty overalls /dog / takeaway food at the door. Brendan
I?m with you Tillie. It is my favourite pub but, Yuk! The purple was horrible and this green is just wrong. Although it could be worse, it could have been yellow like the Mag. SeanMacGabhann
I think they are getting their inspiration from Liam ?g's on Walworth rd - that has gone from purple to green (or possibly vice-versa) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2510-what-is-to-become-of-the-cpt/page/5/#findComment-102459 Share on other sites

SeanMacGabhann
I didn't mean it seriously!as for brother - no he was across the way in Sully Shuffles . juuuust before the refit a year or 2 ago Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2510-what-is-to-become-of-the-cpt/page/5/#findComment-102466 Share on other sites
SteveT
Out of the pubs I have been to with the forumistas (crown&greyhound upland cpt magdala) I would put the cpt at the top for preference and the magdala at the very bottom, as Keef says the mag' is just too loud. Peckhamgatecrasher
Liam Og's - I fondly remember a lock in there on Good Friday - back in the day when pubs closed in the afternoon.I think the CPT green is very elegant - sort of Georgian Farrow & Ball colour, but the light blue spoils it. ????
