constant hum

Recommended Posts

Is anyone else aware of a constant low pithed humming noise- is 24/7 in the Lordship Lane/Court Lane area ?

Ive been hearing it for months and after excluding all household causes by switching off the power, I have been through a similar process with both my neighbours. Now, because its otherwise so quiet I realise I can hear it in the garden too....I did think it may be me or my hearing but my neighbour is being similarly troubled. any thoughts please ?

It is undoubtedly the ?Thought Police?. They have been active throughout the local area for some time now. They have been instrumental in transmitting Covid 19 via 5G masts and recently forced us to vote for Brexit and Boris Johnson. I say ?Resist. Continue to support your local publicans?.

thank you- in seeing quite a lot of that on Google- im suspecting it may be a generator or pump of some type some distance away

Seriously - there are numerous worldwide reports of low pitched hums. Sometimes it?s far away machinery, sometimes traffic and sometimes - nobody knows. Unfortunately I can?t help here but only sympathise.

Bees collectively make a surprisingly loud hum, particularly with less traffic noise (cancelled out by petrol strimmers, power tools and the like)

Some insects and other animals can make noises in a synchronized manor amplifying it greatly. Perhaps said petrol strimmers and mowers have developed some intelligence and are responsible.

Hi. Yes, we can hear a low hum. We are at the Actress Pub end of Ulverscroft Road. There is an electric sub-station at the Lordship Lane end of North Cross Road. The hum has increased in intensity over the last five or six weeks. I have heard it in the past, but it was more audible late at night when everything else was quiet. We can now hear it all the time.

Hello,

Could be a possibility that it's cannabis cultivation related noise! Unfortunately I've just moved out of a flat, where the neighbours were growing cannabis and using an extractor fan, which gives off a low bass hum, to help mask the smell. The noise was driving us crazy and it took us many months to figure it out and piece all the bits of evidence together. Initially we thought it was an unbalanced washing machine, and then a broken down boiler, but eventually the signs that it was much worse than those became evident.

Keep making a note of when you are sharing the noise and get onto the councils noise and nuisance enforcement team, who can come and check out the noise for you, especially if it's destroying your daily standard of living experience.

    • 57% of those who actually lived in the consultation area I believe. Around 3,000. Presumably 2,000 of whom are the ‘supporters of One Dulwich (but not members of One Dulwich? So how does one ‘join’?) It seems fairly clear that Southwark could have done more first time round as they did open the junction back up to emergency services. I’m not sure why this suggests someone shawdowy is ‘pulling their strings’ though as you suggest. You say read up on it - why not share the evidence that emergency services were knocking on the council’s door for months and months?  You’ve just posted a claim the the LFB haven’t been consulted this time round, yet their spokesman says  “Regarding the FOI, the local authority did consult the Brigade. However, they didn’t initially contact the specific Southwark team, who responded on the FOI saying they hadn’t been contacted.” I have answered all your questions (where they are actual questions). You ducked and deflected my two for several pages, before awkwardly distancing yourself from the claims made in the missive you shared 😳 A question that says “do you agree with a design that does nothing to stop persistent number plate covering offenders” is what’s called a loaded question. Whether one say yes or no it accepts the premise. It’s the classic ‘when did you stop beating your wife” construction, and it’s not very subtle. 🙄
    • Can someone please explain who "one Dulwich" are?
    • We are actually referred to as "Supporters"...2,100 of us across Dulwich...read and weep! 😉   https://www.onedulwich.uk/supporters   Got it, the one where 64% of respondents in the consultation area said they wanted the measures "returned to their original state". Is that the one you claim had a yes/no response question?   Well I suggest you read up on it as it is an important part of the story of utter mismangement by the councils and this is why so many of us can't work out who is pulling the council's strings on this one because surely you can agree that if the emergency services were knocking on your door for months and months telling you the blocks in the roads were delayihg response times and putting lives at risk you'd do something about it? Pretty negligent not to do so don't you think - if I was a councillor it would not sit well with me?   Careful it could be a Mrs, Miss or Mx One.....   Of course you don't that's because you have strong opinions but hate being asked for detail to.back-up those opinions (especially when it doesn't serve their narrative) and exposes the flaws in your arguments! 😉  As so many of the pro-LTN lobby find to their cost the devil is always in the detail.....
