In an era when everyone is quick to condemn organizations who should have known about savile, doesn't anyone find the mails ongoing fascination with underage girls creepy?

And hypocritical?

In years to come people will ask why this was tolerated

I said that I would not post any cheap comment, but suggesting that the Mail (or Mail on line) is aimed at those under 45 amused me. You can't get in to my local newsagents for Grauniad's on a Saturday. I recently popped into a Sainsburys near to Woking and found about ten times more Mails than any other daily on sale. So for the first time in my life I bought (the only copy on display) of the Morning Star. I confused the sales staff by asking them to order more in future.

Well I for one can't wait to read my proper paper version at the end of a long day. Never read the on-line version though but things lead from there I suppose with twitter, facebook, etc. Don't do any of those so I'm stuck with my proper hard copy.

Been reading it for 12 years now and you can't fault the 10 page health news every Wednesday, Amanda Platell column, Richard Littlejohn, Janet Street-Porter, the Questions and Answers page, coverage of sports. I could go on but don't want to upset people.

teenage girls are sexy innit

Apparently the plural is sudokus, but that actually doesn't make an sense at all.

Sudoku means 'numbers one by one' so it seems illogical to try and create a plural of a phrase that describes an activity. It doesn't matter how many puzzles you've got, you're still putting numbers in one by one.

As a Japanese word, they quite sensibly don't have plurals anyway. So if one airily decided that so far as one is concerned sudoku is a noun, you'd still end up with one sudoku, two sudoku, three sudoku...

    • Our acoustic folk orchestra is looking for a larger space to host their Monday rehearsals for upcoming concerts — ideally something of considerable size similar to this: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iILJxcXePIlN7oVHmyz4MiCeGVuYa7oY/view?usp=drivesdk This is a most lovely community project which 7 years on continues to bring together hundreds of people from all over the world and to hold space for them to share their culture through song.
    • Did Southwark Council ever get the £140,000 owed to them from the Pub in the Park Festival after they went into administration in 2023?
    • Thanks, i don't know those other restaurants but they sound good. There was a very good Malaysian restaurant on Edgware Road but I forget the name (not Melur, further north than that). tbh though I have to choose carefully with Malaysian, I do find some dishes very hot. Don't know en root but if it's plant-based it's right up my street. Thanks.
    • Absolutely, another coalition was nailed on with the bookies, three big factors, Tories playing it very cute with constituents in marginal seats, LDs being punished for tuition fees and not pushing Tories harder, and Milliband's public persona in particular the right wing media.  irrespective of unnecessary austerity the country would have been in a better place if there had been another coalition.
