StraferJack
In an era when everyone is quick to condemn organizations who should have known about savile, doesn't anyone find the mails ongoing fascination with underage girls creepy? And hypocritical?http://twicsy.com/i/ZNQrGcStill, all girls grow up in the end right?http://www.vice.com/en_uk/read/all-grown-up-sexing-up-the-internet-with-the-daily-mailIn years to come people will ask why this was tolerated Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/26720-who-reads-the-daily-mail-in-east-dulwich/page/2/#findComment-592330 Share on other sites
malumbu
I said that I would not post any cheap comment, but suggesting that the Mail (or Mail on line) is aimed at those under 45 amused me. You can't get in to my local newsagents for Grauniad's on a Saturday. I recently popped into a Sainsburys near to Woking and found about ten times more Mails than any other daily on sale. So for the first time in my life I bought (the only copy on display) of the Morning Star. I confused the sales staff by asking them to order more in future. minder
Well I for one can't wait to read my proper paper version at the end of a long day. Never read the on-line version though but things lead from there I suppose with twitter, facebook, etc. Don't do any of those so I'm stuck with my proper hard copy.Been reading it for 12 years now and you can't fault the 10 page health news every Wednesday, Amanda Platell column, Richard Littlejohn, Janet Street-Porter, the Questions and Answers page, coverage of sports. I could go on but don't want to upset people. Moos
Be honest, EP. How long did you spend deciding what the plural of sudoku is? jumpinjackflash
I buy it on a Saturday 'cos I like the Bel Mooney problem page and the TV supplement with the puzzles at the back; I like to see how far I can get with their 'Smallest, Hardest' crossword. El Pibe
I thoroughtly researched the various latin declensions before abitrarily deciding on 'a', now regretting i didn't plump for sudok? Huguenot
Apparently the plural is sudokus, but that actually doesn't make an sense at all.Sudoku means 'numbers one by one' so it seems illogical to try and create a plural of a phrase that describes an activity. It doesn't matter how many puzzles you've got, you're still putting numbers in one by one.As a Japanese word, they quite sensibly don't have plurals anyway. So if one airily decided that so far as one is concerned sudoku is a noun, you'd still end up with one sudoku, two sudoku, three sudoku...
