They are always closed & don't have much in there. It's not the same as a proper larger garden centre you can walk round with a shop & stuff.

They do indeed. Took my 70s Quad amp down there for a repair and fixed it at a reasonable cost. Chap who did it was very helpful.

I think it needs a Pop Up Cake Sale tomorrow outside Roullier White (125 Lordship Lane) to raise money for St Johns!

10 til 3 and lots and lots of yummy cakes for sale - and while you are there why not purchase a little something special to serve them on!

Everyone who spends ?10.00 or more will automatically be entered into our prize draw to win 2 tickets to the East Dulwich Supper Club

Do come along

I think LL needs a big cafe for children with room for the 4x4 buggies and space for children to play on the floor, make a mess and be loud. The dish and the spoon in nunhead is a small version of the thing we need. More space, more playroom (less mess at home!)

And for the evenings can we bring back inside 72? LL is a shadow of its former self without it.

I know, how about putting them in the multi-storey carpark suggested by mark88?

Problem solved! :0)

yes I said that too. A proper big one with a shop. I really do miss popping in there to have a wonder round :(

What this place definitely does not need is any more shops attracting trendy 20/30 something yummy yuppy wannabe pretentious types who failed to get a job good enough to pay for a cosy mid-terrace period property in Clapham. So no more cosy yummy mummy cafes with room for a bugaboo or 6. Lets get in some decent shops for everyone to use. My vote goes to pret a manger.

    • Hello! We are relocating abroad and so will be withdrawing our two children (ages 4 and 6) from St Dunstan’s College (Catford). If any family is considering enrolling children of a similar age, now would be an excellent opportunity—we’re required to pay full‑term fees unless the places are taken. Please get in touch if you’re interested or know someone who might be. Thank you!

    • Thanks for your reply. I’ve subscribed to Ancestry a few times in the past but felt I wasn’t using it enough to warrant keeping up the subscription.
    • Hi, I saw your post and just wanted to say that the incident you’re referring to did happen in the late 1980s at Dawson’s Heights. The person involved was named Carl Salawa, and he had just turned 18 years old at the time. Like you, I haven’t been able to find any news articles or official reports about it, If anyone remembers anything more about that time or incident, I’d really appreciate hearing about it. Thanks for sharing what you were told—it means a lot to know others remember.
