iamyamyam
this is quite possibly one of the best things I've ever seen and raises drinking into the athletic pantheon it has previously been barred from. I'm in. What time does it start? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2788-ed-road-race-lounged/page/2/#findComment-86986 Share on other sites

david_carnell
I can't make forum drinks but this is due to a night of heavy drinking in Brixton so I shall be equally as handicapped as the next man (or woman).I think a EDF contingent should be present. Any takers? Don't make me name and shame you! surfbobby
Well for those that are up for the race, the Gun goes off at the Plough at One O'Clock but you should be there a good bit before hand to get your drinks sorted. It's a Pint and a shot of your choosing to be downed at both Plough and Clockhouse. Hopefully our support staff will be able to arrange to have our Clockhouse drinks waiting at the finish line.Keep on RunningSB Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2788-ed-road-race-lounged/page/2/#findComment-107465 Share on other sites

surfbobby
Whatever blows yer kilt up Sean, I for one will be taking this very seriously indeed and bringing my running shoes. Myself and Help Ma Boab are going to try and make the EDF drinks, so hopefully get to meet a few of you in friendly social circumstances, before it all gets competitive :)-D Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2788-ed-road-race-lounged/page/2/#findComment-107478 Share on other sites
citizenED
C'mon Sean, be serious. The idea is that you go to the Plough for the pint and shot - let the serious ones speed off whilst you slowly sup the beer. Then stroll down Barry Road, (or catch the bus if it's raining) and join the mad runners for a easy-going pint at the Clock where you can talk about how your race tactics went tits-up. They'll be knackered and spluttering - you'll be mellow and smelling fresh as a daisy. david_carnell
Having played Mr MacGabhan at pool I can confirm he is of a rather competitive ilk and will no doubt be appearing in full running gear accompanied by motivational coaches and physios.I shall be doing the whole thing in evening wear. Are martinis eligible as shots? Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2788-ed-road-race-lounged/page/2/#findComment-107484 Share on other sites
Help-Ma-Boab
I'll be focusing my attention on getting oot the Plough once the seal has been broken...Will be motivated by the thought of plenty of pivo-tonic drinks at the other end. SeanMacGabhann
I can be competitive - Marmora Man and ???? would even be proud of me! - but I don't know about this one. I'l ltreat this year as a test-run methinks...(the thought of pelting down Barry Rd only to tumble over a car pulling out of Uplands Rd would be scary - IF I hadn't been doing something similar in GTA IV every night for a fortnight now) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2788-ed-road-race-lounged/page/2/#findComment-107486 Share on other sites
Bald Eagle
I think the rules may need to be reviewed. I have a short leg & a long leg. I don't think it is fair that I have to drink same number of pints as those with two equal length legs! Floating Onion
I'm very competitive. I've had years of practice at running while drinking. Now where was that thread about King's A&E?Should also be dragging a mate to this & the forum drinks. As Lady Onion will be out of the country it should be interesting! Moos
Looking forward to seeing Carnell in correct evening dress, Sean (I just typed Swan, is there something unconscious going on there?) in go-faster stripes and Citizen fooling 'em all with his don't-care attitude before whipping past to the finishing post.BaldEagle, surely your wings give you something of an advantage?
