Well for those that are up for the race, the Gun goes off at the Plough at One O'Clock but you should be there a good bit before hand to get your drinks sorted. It's a Pint and a shot of your choosing to be downed at both Plough and Clockhouse. Hopefully our support staff will be able to arrange to have our Clockhouse drinks waiting at the finish line.

Keep on Running

Whatever blows yer kilt up Sean, I for one will be taking this very seriously indeed and bringing my running shoes. Myself and Help Ma Boab are going to try and make the EDF drinks, so hopefully get to meet a few of you in friendly social circumstances, before it all gets competitive :)-D
C'mon Sean, be serious. The idea is that you go to the Plough for the pint and shot - let the serious ones speed off whilst you slowly sup the beer. Then stroll down Barry Road, (or catch the bus if it's raining) and join the mad runners for a easy-going pint at the Clock where you can talk about how your race tactics went tits-up. They'll be knackered and spluttering - you'll be mellow and smelling fresh as a daisy.

Having played Mr MacGabhan at pool I can confirm he is of a rather competitive ilk and will no doubt be appearing in full running gear accompanied by motivational coaches and physios.

I shall be doing the whole thing in evening wear. Are martinis eligible as shots?

I can be competitive - Marmora Man and ???? would even be proud of me! - but I don't know about this one. I'l ltreat this year as a test-run methinks...

(the thought of pelting down Barry Rd only to tumble over a car pulling out of Uplands Rd would be scary - IF I hadn't been doing something similar in GTA IV every night for a fortnight now)

Looking forward to seeing Carnell in correct evening dress, Sean (I just typed Swan, is there something unconscious going on there?) in go-faster stripes and Citizen fooling 'em all with his don't-care attitude before whipping past to the finishing post.

BaldEagle, surely your wings give you something of an advantage?

    • By now you’ve hopefully seen that our main demonstration against Trump’s state visit is in London on Wednesday. Many of you have also asked, though, about how you can help ‘welcome’ Donald Trump to Windsor when he arrives there tomorrow (Tuesday) evening. So here’s the plan: We’re asking you to come and line Windsor High Street tomorrow in a peaceful, static protest.  Time: 6pm, Tue 16 Sept Location: Assemble outside Windsor Parish Church, High St, Windsor SL4 1LS and then spread out along the High Street. Grab some cardboard and a pen and make a homemade sign to show Donald Trump and his supporters what you think of them!  The world’s media will be in Windsor to cover the state visit, so showing visually that he is not welcome will send an important message far and wide. If you are coming then please join this Signal chat group for important updates.     Protest safety Please buddy up and come with someone else You have a right to peacefully demonstrate, but we are expecting a high police presence. Remain non-violent and non-confrontational, and do not talk to the police. It may be better to dress inconspicuously, not like an ‘activist’ We plan on ending at 7.30pm. Please leave in groups of 5–10 and make sure you have a bust card This action is entirely legal but we still recommend that you read this key advice when going on a protest to know your rights. Remember:  No comment No personal details Ask ‘under what power?’ No duty solicitor Don’t accept a caution Here is the protest support line: 07946 541 511 and here is more information on Stop & Search under the Public Order Act.   Thank you for being part of the movement against Trump. In solidarity, Stop Trump Coalition
    • We booked a day when we could drop around 8 bags. They directed us to use the rear entrance on Carver Rd. I would definitely ring as they don’t seem to have much space at the back. Our experience was great, they were very polite and thankful.
