Our saturday lunchtimes are gonna change now as today the Tulip cafe is closing.

The chef has been frying eggs for 28 years with 12 of those at the Tulip.

The family who run the place have always been so friendly and it is sad to see them go.

So if you are a fan, nip down there today and say goodbye.

Ultra, try the dulwich cafe' by the palmerston, that place is alot busier than the others and the portions are great. The Tulip is good though, i tried to swing a deal for them a couple of years ago but it didnt quite work out so i suspect it will stay a working mans cafe' or it will evolve into something ED like.:) Lets see on Monday.

true - but chicken / kebab type shops often cluster together - there used to be loads on Lordship Lane when I first moved here

    • Nothing I can see to the contrary on the Companies House website.  But their licence expires in four days, so you might want to check that  some time.  https://environment.data.gov.uk/public-register/scrap-metal-dealers/registration/E5019-879385-S/
    • Maybe, as there are 7 of them, the front one could be Chris Adams and they are here to save the East Dulwich townsfolk from the gang of bandits led by Calvera 😅 Although I suspect that there maybe a problem further up route and they are waiting for it to clear.
    • Is GH Metals Ltd. still trading? I have tried all 3 phone numbers, but nobody is picking up.  If closed, any recommendations for other scrap metal merchants near by?
    • It's great that the relatively new type garden bags seem to be a lot bigger than the old ones, but has anybody else found that they disintegrate in the rain? I have two full ones in front of my house (too small to call the space a garden) and  they both  seem to have developed large holes when they got wet in the recent heavy rain. They mostly have prickly rose prunings in, which doesn't help.
