Okay, I have been told off for limiting the past post to men over 30, so to counter balance it here is a version for ladies

After much thought I have come up with a survey for all of the women on the forum who are over 30 (and the age is key to the choices, but I suspect that younger women may also want to vote on this)

Simple question, given the choices below, who would you most like to be taken out on a date by if they were a real life person (or alive today) and also include your reason why ?

a) DCI Gene Hunt

b) Fraiser

c) Fred Fintstone

d) Dr Who (any incarnation but state which)

e) Alan Sugar (slight bending of the rules here)

f) Tucker Jenkins (ahh the old days of Grange Hill but pre deadenders)

g) Jesus or one of the other 12 fellas (again state which)

h) Jack Bauer

i) inspector Clouseau (there is a minky with a berm)

j) Superman

k) Daniel Mead (mode !!!)

l) Ethan Hunt (you know played by that short fella who had everyone on hello)

m) James Bond (any incarnation)

No other choices allowed (although I bet someone decides different)

Ok, after some serious thought and time on google images....

Definitely Sean Connery's Bond.

It was between him and Pierce Brosnan's Bond, but can't choose Brosnan on principle since he did that terrible L'Oriel advert.

As for the rest...

a) DCI Gene Hunt Yuk

b) Fraiser Hhmmm, maybe for the sort of date that ends with a chaste kiss at the door, but no more

c) Fred Flintstone No

d) Dr Who (any incarnation but state which) If I had to choose one it would be Paul McGann, but not keen

e) Alan Sugar (slight bending of the rules here) No. No. No. No. Never

f) Tucker Jenkins (ahh the old days of Grange Hill but pre deadenders) Sorry Tucker, but no, it's the mole

g) Jesus or one of the other 12 fellas (again state which) No, what would my grandmother say?

h) Jack Bauer He's a definite maybe

i) inspector Clouseau (there is a minky with a berm) Um, no. Seem to be saying that a lot

j) Superman Well, who wouldn't be curious?

k) Daniel Mead (mode !!!) Third after the two Bonds

l) Ethan Hunt (you know played by that short fella who had everyone on hello) Oh no. The eyebrows, the funny nose, the height, the scientology freakiness (ok, ok I know it's supposed to be the character, but some things can't be ignored

m) James Bond (any incarnation) Yes! In order - Connery, Brosnan, Craig, then if I had to Moore, Lazenby, Dalton

Of course this is all completely hypothetical, my real perfect date is bignumber5 every time. :))

Dear God, LuvPeckham, what are you offering here??!! Do you not like us very much? No Clooney, no Hugh Laurie (mmmmm), no Byron, no that-cute-bloke-from-CSI, no Hektor...

a) DCI Gene Hunt

Who? Whaa..? OK, have just Wiki'd him. He looks awfully cross. No.

b) Fraiser

Assume you mean Frasier? Clearly we are soul mates since I too am a pedant, but I'm afraid I'm going to have to say no. Unless I had insomnia, or else had developed some sort of cleaning mania, and could soothe myself by polishing his pate.

c) Fred Fintstone

Dim and fat - or is he Fred Flintstone's saucy younger cousin? (sorry, see point on pedantry above). No. And drives a car with his own feet! I mean, it's just not practical. Besides, I'd be a bit scared of Wilma finding out.

d) Dr Who (any incarnation but state which)

Can only remember Tom Baker and now would probably ruin the date and annoy him by making him do lots of his voiceovers during dinner (ooh ooh, do the Little Britain one! Do the Channel 4 one!) Best to avoid ruining the relationship by not starting it. But quite like the idea of dating a Time Lord. Whooo-hoooo! Don't you think a Time Lord could do lots of fiendishly naughty things with dimensions? Hmmm...

Sorry, lost focus there.

e) Alan Sugar (slight bending of the rules here)

Not if he built me a yacht of diamonds and let me punch him in the snoot every hour on the hour. Ugh. Ugh!!!! UGH!!!!!!! Horrid swaggering bullyboy, and what's WITH his hair? And I bet he has absolutely no conversation. This is an appalling thing to say, but I'd rather date Donald Trump.

f) Tucker Jenkins (ahh the old days of Grange Hill but pre deadenders)

Who? Sorry, Mum wouldn't let me watch Grange Hill.

g) Jesus or one of the other 12 fellas (again state which)

Nope, neither Big Daddy nor one of his merry men. I don't want to blaspheme so I'll just say I think I'd be happier with a guy not married to his job. And the disciples weren't very cool: doubting, betraying or just plain misogynistic: yes, St. Paul I am talking about you.

h) Jack Bauer

Are you kidding?? I'd be blown up by the US government / kidnapped by crazed terrorists / shot by aliens before we'd finished the soup course. I mean, he's sexy and everything but not worth the risk

i) inspector Clouseau (there is a minky with a berm)

Now we're getting somewhere. Not bad, not bad and definitely worth a giggle. However, going to have to say no, because as soon as we got down to the biz, bloody Cato would pop up and ruin everything. On a slight tangent I also wouldn't date Peter Sellers, poor depressed man.

j) Superman

No, too clean cut and smug and probably therefore rubbish at the horizontal tango. Would almost certainly fold his arms and lecture me about leaving my pants on the floor, and what's sexy about that?

k) Daniel Mead (mode !!!)

Who? Am I really ignorant? I don't know half of these people, and I'm certainly over 30. Oh hang on, the pretty boy from Ugly Betty with the girlish freckles. I'm not a cradle-snatcher just yet. No.

l) Ethan Hunt (you know played by that short fella who had everyone on hello)

Oh really no. Talk about Napoleon syndrome. Oh, I suppose I'm talking about the actor, aren't I? But the self-satisfied, slightly mad on adrenaline, definitely onanistic glitter in the eye belongs to both men. And he's short, and I'm not. I know that's a bit snobby, but what's a girl to do when she likes shoes?

m) James Bond (any incarnation)

Sean Connery's Bond - no, he'd only beat me. Roger Moore's Bond - no, the eyebrows are just too annoying. The Aussie bloke - no, would be too bitter about being the rubbish Bond. Timothy Dalton's Bond - no, too drippy and philosophical. Daniel Craig's Bond - no, silly pants and looks like a blond gorilla. I've heard of fit, but that's ridiculous! Pierce Brosnan's Bond... oh, I can't be bothered with this. Just no. But wait! David Niven played Bond, and he was a fox. Phew! Saved by the bell.

So what are the other 2 threads? Watching with interest.

Thirded, Sean Connery for me (especially as he got older)!

Dont know alot of the others but wouldnt say nay to Jesus (Robert Powell version), and might consider Alan Sugar for a date. I adore Fraiser but would only want the conversation.

Definitely David Niven for the Bond.

The Brigadier rather than any of the Doctors.

Jack Bauer's Dad (Donald Sutherland).

Gene Hunt if I'd had rather too many.

(on the pedantry front, St Paul wasn't a disciple) I'd go for Thaddeus - cool name.

Jack Bauer - firstly 'cos "Jack" is just a cool name, and secondly because he'd give you an evening you'd never forget - but only a date - I wouldn't want to have a relationship with the cold-hearted son of a .........

I don't think I want a relationship with any of them.

>:D<

Ha! trust you to bring that one up! I've been trying to forget I ever posted that! (done in a moment of madness) I have since apologised and said to him I didn't know he was a selective vegetarian or I wouldn't have bothered! He has since admitted he was a knob end (re the "well aint you going to finish me off then" comment and "I don't really do .... blah blah" comments and has gone his merry way to find someone who'll put up with his self satisfying love making.

    • Re Day One, £52 for a short hair cut (cut & styling) and £72 for a long hair cut (cut & styling) which I believe is below the ears.  £38 for a blow dry which doesn’t appear to be included in the cut price as it’s not mentioned.  £15 for a fringe tidy.      I remember being startled to be charged separately for a blow dry by the salon that used to be in Melbourne Grove but is now closed down.  I was asked if I wanted a blow dry after the cut and highlights and said yes, but wasn’t told that I would be charged separately.  Only found out when I went to pay the bill.    Was offered a voucher on a further appointment.    De.Salon which used to be Cut-Throat in Peckham (Choumert Rd and Brixton) charge from £45 for a Short haircut that finishes by the ears.  They charge from £40 for any haircut that finishes below the jawline.  Their prices include a blow dry.  But if you have thick hair they charge an extra £15 for every additional 15 minutes for cutting.     I had my hair cut there before the name change.  I don’t understand the from part of the price. Had a look at the Blue Tit pricing which is very complicated. They charge depending on the stylist’s  experience.  Crab Salad in Peckham  -  short hair cut above the ear - from £69.    Long hair Cut below the ear from £80. Blow dry not mentioned as being included in the cut but is priced at £55 I noticed that Kuki charge different prices for men and women.  Doesn’t seem right if a woman has short hair and a man has long hair.   I used to go to a great salon in NW London  that charged the same price for men and women and stopped going when they upped their prices for women.
