"New festivals - clean middle class hippies with their tops on flogging dream catchers to victims, student ket casualties, scousers ransaking your tent 24/7, dogs with bejewweld collars, heavy private security presence, shit music, mumford and @#$%& sons, screaming kids running amok at 2AM, drizzle, everyone wearing designer wellies, organic vegan noodles @ ?10 a pop, designer cup cakes, shitty pop up tents in Union Jack colours"

You just can't argue with that! And you're right *bob*, my best years are behind me. I've done my time man!!!

I'm sure when my kids are older I'll have a second coming, and be the bald fat bastard with his top off sweating pure lager.

EoTR. Too tame and did not appreciate being asked to show my wristband at every single gate/stage entrance for the entire time I was there.

an old breton colleague recommended the route du rock highly, and we almost made it last year, but miserably failed to book a cottage anywhere.

the dreaded nick cave is in attendance so snorkies need not apply.

I'll be lucky to have enough time to switch 6 music on this year, leave alone get away anywhere.

EoTR is definitely... I would say gentle rather than tame. But either way it is definitely that - it set out to be, it largely is and I like that about it compared to other festies (haven't got anything against bigger festivals either btw, but having something different is a good thing)

Bit of an exageration on the wristband front as well, it isn't really that big a deal is it? I agree I'd rather not have to at all, but in all my years there it hasn't ever registered for more than a nanosecond

Totally off topic but I don't want to start a new thread. Anyone on here been to the Relentless Garage in Highbury? I am considering taking a 15 year old girl to a gig there. It's going to be a sold out gig so the place will be at full capacity. Is that too overwhelming for a 15 year old? Will she see anything? I don't want her to have a negative experience and it's frankly not a band I personally want to see.

I'm hoping someone on here will have an opinion because I don't know the venue.

Thank you.

They are an excuse to take lots of drugs, really, if people are honest.

"It's our chance to relax" whilst texting grandma, to see if little pootle is OK.

All the while hoping the gear isn't cut with poison or tainted with Anthrax.

    • I’d also recommend Paul for electrical work. He came round the other week to help us out with a handful of jobs (installing an SPD, new light fittings, installing a dimmer switch, a bathroom fan). His quote was cheaper than what I got from others, he turned up on time and he got the job done quickly.
    • We’d like to add our recommendation for Lukasz and team at L&L Building & Maintenance.  Lukasz has recently installed a roof terrace for us, and we’ve found him a pleasure to work with from start to finish. We contacted about a dozen recommended builders and found his quote very competitive. During the build his team delivered quality work, they were no hassle in the house at all and they kept the place tidy every day. The terrace looks great, and we’re very happy customers. What stood out in particular was Lukasz’s responsiveness, right from discussing quotes to follow-up during the build. Lukasz often checked in and was always available when we needed him.  We’ll definitely contact Lukasz again for future building work and we’d happily recommend him to others looking for a reliable builder.   Lukasz Kugaczewski L&L Building & Maintenance 07926651960 [email protected] www.landl-build.com
    • Yes, I did mention the train, which I now get from East Dulwich to Guys instead of the 40. Depends where in East Dulwich you are starting from which route is easiest! I think it is probably lack of staff rather than lack of hospitals which is the problem?
    • What can be done? How about reporting it to the police?
