Vicanna
What a shame.Anyway, besides cottaging, does anyone have any good recommendations? Or any experiences they'd like to share? Vicanna
Bully for her.Holloway, yes, UrbEx is technically illegal. But some of the explorers I've met with a greater wealth of experience than myself assure me that you're only likley to face charges if you trespass on sites that contain elements that pose a risk to the intruders or any staff if disturbed (or could inconvenience those living nearby), such as power stations, abandoned tube stations, MoD property etc. Other than that, you aren't likely to find yourself before the beak if you poke around a disused warehouse. But the getting 'caught' aspect is all part of the thrill of UrbEx. Vicanna
Not really. If anything, it sounds more like a clothing brand. Now that we've cleared that up, perhaps you'd like to contribute something useful. Vicanna
It clearly wasn't. Although some UrbExers (like myself) enjoy the thrill of evading the attention of night watchmen, we don't go poking around occupied residential properties. Nor are we interested in removing any objects from the sites we visit. Please focus on the OP; and try not to make any more painfully stupid remarks. Siduhe
One of our support guys at work is/was very into it - he's also into photography and has some amazing shots from his excursions. However he's also spent the last six months waiting to hear if the CPS are going to take forward a prosecution for trespass against him and friends after they got caught somewhere they considered fairly innocuous. So not without risk... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/30675-urban-exploration/#findComment-630188 Share on other sites

steveo
As far as I'm aware trespass is a tort and you cannot be prosecuted for itBut I'm often wrong Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/30675-urban-exploration/#findComment-630267 Share on other sites
woodrot
roughly, yes, a few specifics aside - it starts to get messy though if there is any evidence of forced entry or damage that can be pinned back to the explorer.Someone who is blates exploring and doesnt come with any tools that can be used for B&E etc, then its not ususally an issue & the filth cant hoist a file up to the CPS - though if you start scaling the fences at Dounray or Faslane, then expect to be hammered. The CJA did give a few more powers but anyone with a bit of sense should be able to keep to the right side of exploration.scotch law will likely be different though. maxxi
Mid 90s some friends and I went on a midnight semi-drunken 'explore' around the old Tooting Bec Mental Hospital - all abandoned bedframes, trolleys and old phones and some very fucking weird murals on the walls. This activity didn't have a name then unless it was called "wandering around with torches seeing if there was anything still worth nicking". LondonLogCo
I'm with maxxi here, so I suppose it'd be called SalveEx . Basically find a closed up factory/institution and make your way into it. Anything you found curious enough to warrant taking was fair game. Nothing really had a value then, unlike now where walls lined with the ECT diary of the la la ward would be so recherch?.Back in the 80' I spent an afternoon in an abandoned hospital outside of Guildford , with my dog, where she ate a massive poo she found in a disused bog. Both events equally as memorable. *Bob*
If you can actually refer to yourself as 'An UrbExer' with a straight face, then I'm impressed. Personally I'd feel like a bit of a dick.
