macroban
I saw Gordon Brown on television last night. Can anyone with psycho-medical experience express a qualified opinion? Brendan
Gordon Brown is a robot with a latex skin pulled over it. That?s why he looks all foldy. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3125-is-gordon-brown-unwell/#findComment-97313 Share on other sites

SteveT
He makes me sick looking at him!Out of all the talented Scots that are available we end up with him. Marmora Man
Two options:1. He's just discovered he's the living proof of the Peter Principle - that people are promoted to one level beyond their competence - at which point they fail.2. He's in a state of cognitive dissonance - what he believes the world to be and what it actually is are at odds and he can't cope.Either way he's a disaster for the country, a very poor Prime Minister - even staunch New Labourites that I know are now either apologising for him or just saying "please don't talk about it". Keef
I feel rather sorry for him, he came in at a terrible time, and I don't think he'll ever recover from it.A shame, as I think he is a good honest man in a time of smiley spin orientated polotics. He's been a bit pig headed about some stuff though. I just wish Blair had passed on the mantle a couple of years back and given him a fair crack, rather than digging him a massive hole and leaving Brown to try and climb out.Heard Cameron on Radio 4 this morning, vile little turd he is.It's depressing when you really don't have faith in anyone to lead the country... Or at least no one with a hope of getting in. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3125-is-gordon-brown-unwell/#findComment-98739 Share on other sites

snoozequeen1
In memoriam, Robin Cook.Spoke sanely, accurately and truthfully against the war.Spoke sanely about where the pathological hysterical never-never economy would lead.Raised a voice for an ethical foreign policy.Couldn't be leader, because he had red hair.Vince Cable. Always speaks sense, always has, excellent judgement. Can't be leader, because he doesn't fit the media's mould of a Stepford Politician (the Blair, Cameron, Clegg robot). Who was it that said people get the government they deserve? snorky
Read Irvine Welsh/ "if you liked school, you'll love work" Poem about Robin Cook...( conains bad language )Brown ? hes pretty straight I think, remarkably clever, but wasnt savvy enough to consider Blairs legacy and the lack of respite he would get. He alos shows how much we use a media image nowadays to make up our opinion. He has been a bit unlucky of late with the problems emerging in the black heart of International Kapital Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3125-is-gordon-brown-unwell/#findComment-98930 Share on other sites

dulwichmum
How very dare you all? Shame on the lot of you. SteveT - to the naughty step and as for you ????, I thought that you were a more sensible person than this. As usual, Mr Keef is a King amongst men...Can't you see? Gordon has that whole cerebral, "daddy in charge" thing going on. I think that he is incredibly sexy. He is just like an authoritative school master. I bet he looks fantastic in a V necked jumper and carpet slippers. What is this fascination with how the man in charge looks anyhow, it is what he does that matters - we don't want to have some kid like William (pompous git) Hague or a foppish chick boy like David (needs a good kick in the pants behind the bike sheds) Cameron in charge do we?This is all Tony Blair's fault - he should have stepped down years ago. He looked like a Cheshire Cat on speed before he left town.Whatever is going on here? I love Gordon Brown (swoon), he is the real deal as far as I am concerned, lets give him a chance. I simply adore men who can't play to the camera - the economy is in tatters - but that has more to do with George Bush than my darling Gordon Brown. When I see him on TV, I become transfixed by his manly image, his enormous chest, his fingers the size of Tesco's finest sausages - why he looks like a mature version of Gary Barlow in a certain light (I am told). I would just love to whisper the words "Prime Minister" in his ear...prrr.I think that they should make him President of America too.All Hail Gordon Brown. dc
Snorky's correct. John Major was not educated up to Uni level (nor was Jim Callaghan). It's an interesting fact - although I imagine it only holds for the modern era? EDIT FOR FACT CHECK - Actually there have been three non Oxbridge PM's who went to Uni - Earl Russell (Edinburgh), Neville Chamberlain (Birmingham) and Gordy (Edinburgh) see: PM's and their Universities 11 PM's did not go to Uni.Edited to add:Delete delete delete - how do I just pretend I never posted in the first place? It's just so lame next to DM's. I too now love Gordon Brown although out of loyalty to ED I'd prefer to think of his fingers as William Rose sausages rather than Tesco's - finest or otherwise. snoozequeen1
Are they going to be repossessed? Are they going to wish that they hadn't caved into the bootboys and passed legislation that will now allow them to force their way into the homes of the poor, the sick, the desperate and anyone whose name comes up on the wrong list, terrorising and stealing everything the person owns?Oh joy. *Bob*
Enjoyed QT last night. Nice to see that BJ's election as major has suddenly elevated his sister to tellyworthy status - though you could hardly say she rose to the occasion.I was most impressed by James Purnell. To be a member of the Labour government right now and make it though Question Time without getting a single heckling takes some doing. Admittedly no claps either.. but you can't expect miracles, can you?
