Now the time is near, the thought of heading out alone to meet all you rabble is a little daunting...

I thing I need some beer bravery before heading out!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not worried meeting you all, you all seem reasonably sane >:D<. It's just the thought of wandering in like a complete Billy-no-mates-loner with not a clue as to who I'm looking for!

I liked the cut of your jib anyway VBC - but now I know you are a chicken kebab woman you are even more sound >:D<

Great to see so many new faces last night (and quite a few from teh Book Club as well). Everyone seemed in tip top form - But my oh my the Vale was quiet

Right, the first of many glasses of water before today's Barry Barry Run is called for. I'll see some of you in the Clock House about 1:30 ish?

Yeah the left over kebab splattered all over the living room this morning wasn't a site I needed to see after the amount I drank! How did yours go down?

and OH GOD! For those of you who feel like I do this am and are doing the Barry run...

GOOD LUCK!

I want to see some photos

I'm so pleased I made the effort to show up last night. I was a little fuzzy this morning - I'm a real lightweight and don't take my drink well!

I'm on my way back to Wembley for tonight gig - there's a little rumour that there just might be a Zeppeliny type guest at the Foos tonight. How can I possibly not go? If the rumour's wrong (and I do hope not) then at least I'll be able to catch up with a lot of friends I know will be there. Hope the rumour's right though!

Another very enjoyable social evening. Good to see everyone and so many newbies. Sorry I had to leave early but I knew I would be woken up by a certain little boy by 6am and that doesn't taste so good on a major hangover.

Good to see the Vale actually closed it's doors to regular punters to make it a forum private party;-)

A very good night, how did it get so late so quickly?

There were absolutely no fights and as far as I know Anna (other Anna that is. The one who was dancing round her handbag with Keef) and I had the dubious honour of being the only people to be repremanded by the bouncers - for touching the plants!

Andrew Black was busy with the camera as always and I look forward to seeing the results...

I much enjoyed my first ever Forum drinks. Nice to meet everyone and see all ages - what a very friendly bunch. What a wonderful thing the Barry Barry Run was, although I only saw the messy aftermath. Surely an annual event in the making. Hats off to Surfbobby!

wot - posted 4 hours ago and no comments or thanks to Andrew?

Good work Andrew - although you do have a knack of catching beautiful women in less than flattering poses sometimes!

I love the one of Annaj and Lady Macgabhann on the sofa

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
    • That was one that the BBC seem to have lost track of.  But they do still have quite a few. These are some in their 60s archive. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0028zp6
