back on page 1 of this thread Marmora Man and I were extolling the virtues of Onglet steak

great picture and pointers to locations here

Onglet in Dulwich please

On a positive note, the Bishop and it's sister pubs are doing some bloody marvellous buttermilk fried chicken of late - highlly recommended

A Sri Lankan restaurant with good egg hopers at lunch time. Also agree with another sea food restaurant although like Sea Cow. Other alternatives would be good Lebanese restaurant or Mediterranean restaurant with good selection of salads, or good Italian. If a McDonalds or equivalent arrives will cry.

+2 Good fast food, done consistently well, fairly healthy - it would clean up.

Yes, there is one in Camberwell and it's always rammed...

You're right about there being one in Camberwell although that 10 minute figure is a bit dodgy dossier, depends where you are in East Dulwich really. It is, though, missing in East Dulwich - Food Wise.

There's Kebabs and Fried Chicken for that.

What!! Not a good thing at all. Allowing bleach to get into food as a result of 'overly enthusiastic' cleaning would be bad enough, however, the use of bleach to disguise the smell of spoiled fish is not unheard of.. Rotten fish would certainly account for the week long squits - ew..!

In ED.....it definitely would be great to have a South Indian restaurant as long as the dosas weren't ridiculously over-priced. There is something fabulous about eating food from a banana leaf too.

Loving the Jack Rabbit Slim American-style diner idea. 24 hrs. Malted milkshakes, proper burgers and vanilla cokes all round.

You can do that at Ganapati - and get fab dosas too :)

Not East Dulwich but only a short walk away (Holly Grove SE15) :)

I'm salivating now just thinking about Ganapati's food ................

Didn't know about Ganapati, gonna have to roll in there and see if they will do me a thali on a leaf, I lived on them for months as they were the cheapest way to get full in South India - will be gutted to pay more than Rs25 though !!

Other: Though not a vegetarian, I do like veggie food and am surprised there is not a dedicated veggie restaurant around SE22.

thali on a leaf is pretty much their signature dish (although i've tended to enjoy some of their other dishes more)

Why was that Jeremy? The last meal I had there a month or so back was absolutely amazing so I hope they haven't deteriorated! :-S

    • Thank you for the feedback! Helps to see we're not alone. The only good experience we had was Modern House. Anyone tried Strike/Purple Bricks/Yopa? How did it go? Anything to be mindful of?
    • Best experience we had was with Modern House. The rest of the agents around the area are appalling.... They just want their commission and not interested in getting a good deal. You'd be lucky if they pick up the phone...
    • I’d like to echo the positive comments about Trelco. I discovered that the stopcock on the rising main was leaking and was damaging the flooring in the utility room. Not having seen this thread, or any reviews for that matter,  I picked Trelco  as it was the nearest to me. It was a gamble but goodness it paid off. James was responsive and clear in what he offered. His colleague Andy replaced the offending stopcock and put in a lever valve to allow me to shut off the water easily when I go away. He did a great job, neat and tidy, he was cheerful, friendly and professional. All this within a day of contacting them. Although not an emergency it needed resolution quickly. The price charged was very reasonable indeed, especially considering the quality of the service. I am so pleased to have found such an excellent plumber.
    • Hi Kate I have 3 medium to large good quality cardboard  boxes for you if you want them and some green bubble wrap to go with them. I live SE15 3AY near Harris Girls school and in all day if you want to collect today or weekend OK too. WhatsApp me on 07538164536 Paddy
