I think that's highly unlikely.

Very sorry to hear about the theft, I really liked the picture :(

It is definitely not an inside job, I know.

If you remember what the painting looked like recently, the stik people had wobbly legs. Not Stik's style at all. In May that piece was tagged and as Stik was too busy to come and mend it, and not wanting the tag to be there where it might attract more tags, I touched it up myself. Really badly. So the bottom half is by a middle aged woman who has never held a spray can before in her life! Shades of that old woman in N. Italy touching up a 15th century fresco thought to be by Leonardo! Poor thief!

No, neither the artist nor the building owners get paid, all this is free public spirited stuff. The wall owners often pay the artists' expenses - paint, hire of scaffolding etc. 3 pubs gave them food while they were painting. The pubs, cafes etc have noticed a lot of increased business as people come from all over the place to see the murals and buy in Dulwich. Its win win. (unless you dont like the murals).

And no, you dont need permission for wall paintings, but you do for the mushrooms (on top of Mrs Robinson and Franklins Farm Shop). Im struggling with the council now to get retrospective planning permission, as I hadn't realised you needed it and they are threatening to take them down.

How sad that it's been taken. I love the murals, although they're not all to my taste, I like the colour they add to the area. The fact that the tours bring lots of people to the area is a real bonus for local businesses.

Ingrid - I've noticed the mushrooms but didn't know what the story behind them was - can you help?

Thanks. Why do you need planning permission for those particular ones?

Have you seen Colin Harrington's mural?

I'm really sad this Stik has been taken. I really love the local street art.

Hopefully with Ingrid's "touch up" it won't go far.

easytiger - you'd need planning permission for the mushrooms as they are an external addition / fixture. They presumably don't fall within the 'permitted development' rights.

    • Poor dog….how bloody stupid of owners who clearly have zero recall of their dog. Not good recall, don’t  let your dog off  the lead or have it on a long line. Why did you not hop over fence and get into water to try and rescue dog? Dies in cold water. Totally disgusted but then not surprised by people … No different from people walking their dogs on cliff paths when know might fall off…an  advised to keep on the lead.. do they pay attention….No… what is wrong with people? Don’t they have any common sense? And why wait for fire department? Not exactly strong currents like sea… RIP woofer… no sympathy for owners whatsoever…

    • Andy came recommended by another Tradesman who also did a job for us.  And I am so happy for the recommendation.    Andy is very knowledgeable and professional in his approach to work. The cost of the job was very reasonable. He’s installed temporary ceiling coverage following a leak until the ceiling can be repaired.   Highly recommend Andy and will be using again in very near future! 👍   Thanks Andy!  Andy 07564 194 363.
    • Another recommendation for Greg. Echoing pretty much everything everyone else has said. Friendly communication, good work, and clear pricing. Will be sure to use him again for any future plumbing needs! Thanks Greg!
