People who go to gigs to record the event onto their mobile phones.

For god's sake, go and see a band and join in with the experience etc, don't go merely to listen to it through your tinny sounding pc speakers when you get home.

You look really stupid and may get tennis elbow to boot.

Dunno dukesdenver how'd u like ya sludge? :p

I'm slightly peeved with recruitment departments at the mo... Do I really need to receive 3 or 4 letters/emails saying the same thing or being harassed into completing applications by receiving phone calls by people who wont say who they are? AND all this from years ago! ::o

Receptionists at A&E who get your hopes up by telling you that you can expect to be seeing a doctor in just over an hour, when it's actually nearly 5 hours.

Giving false hope of being seen quickly to the injured is silly - better to say it's going to be a long wait and let people be pleasantly surprised if it turns out to be shorter.

Also, when you query the length of wait, telling you that you will be called through to cubicles soon, and not mentioning you'll then be left in cubicles without being seen for over an hour. (I'm sure that's a statistics dodge - get you into cubicles in under 4 hours means targets met, but no measurement made of wait time in cubicle...)

No prizes for guessing what I was doing last weekend!

But seriously, I would get fired if I treated my clients the way they treated me. It's not the length of wait - it's the poor communication. I know Friday night is a bad time to have a minor injury in A&E, but honesty is more appreciated than false hope.

    • 🤣 re your mystic powers! Didn't want to just put a 🤣 on your post in case people thought I was laughing because the cat had been found!
    • Hopefully, they won't wash the changing room mats poolside in future so the filters won't be overworked keeping the water clean!!!
    • I agree with your sentiment, however you are mistaken about the Dulwich Estate. Their sole purpose is to make as much money as possible to give to the schools they support, as well as the almshouses and other historical buildings. They do not care about social housing (except subsidised housing for teachers of the schools), refreshing the area, low-rent studios, charming but affordable pub, etc. While they are a charity, their purpose is very constrained/focused and whatever they do with this site, it has to make money for them. It's not that they're being nasty or stingy, it's just what their statutes tell them they have to do. Note that I am not defending them, but knowing the above helps understand why they do what they do, even if sometimes it seems to go against the wishes of the local community. They are not answerable to the local community, and their only oversight is the charity commission and the courts. And of course, like all bureaucracies (esp those with limited oversight), they look after themselves very well.
