Yep Brendan, head of news international here in the UK, and it was in this edition of Private Eye Sean, so I'm guessing pretty recent.

I've seen photos of him but he IS pretty forgettable. Apparently she was spotted berating Adam Boulton (the name has come back to me) for not letting on. 'Do you know who I am' has to be the most annoying thing in existence, as if somehow rules don't apply just because your face is on telly, or you kick a ball. Woo.

BB, this merely reminds me of the famous Mrs Merton quote:

(To Debbie McGee) "So, Debbie, tell me, what first attracted you to the millionaire Paul Daniels?"

Hee hee... I knew people might think that! No, I have heard him speak.... he is articulate and charming, and hugely interested in the arts. He mentioned the inner workings of the Royal Court Theatre and I swooned!

The fact he is a multi-millionaire bachelor is entirely irrelevant.

Eeek, HB, that was Jah's perversion not mine!!!!

Is Nicola Stapleton loopy and perverse as I always had a bit of a thing for her? A friend of mine's apparently quite pally with her and keeps threatening to introduce me.

That. I'm sure, would be very wrong.

If we're going down that road, then the girl on the left could have something to do with my lifelong fondness of redheads!

Daphne Blake, bless her!

As an aside, the Thelma in the film (pictured above) was far too pretty!

I used to work with Amanda Platell, well not directly, but she always smiled and said hello to me. There's something about a woman who applies a generous dose of rouge lipstick to her lips too. Maybe her ego's gone a bit haywire since she's been on the telly.

Nicola Stapleton though... she used to drink down the Dog occasionally. I think she still lives in West Dulwich. I always thought she was quite cute. Too late for you now though Mockney.

I saw this lady once in the flesh - in Covent Garden. She's aged beautifully. I stopped in my tracks because I thought she was just so stunning - took me a few moments to figure out who she was.

My mum fancies him.

I quite like Evan Davies but he's gay too. I obviously am just a fabulous fag hag. That picture of Freddie still does it for me.

No, not even with the blonde hair.

Which I took as an indication she was ready to shed that virginity.

But no, if I was drunk enough to consider it, I'be too drunk to consummate it.

    • Great shout. They do need the extra fat when it’s winter, but don’t use fat balls from April as they are dangerous for nestlings as the babies can choke on lumps of the fat. When it gets milder switch to suet pellets as they are harder and don’t melt (the grease is bad for feathers.
    • Rather alarmist. There is unlikely to be snow this week, but even if there is that is natural and wildlife adjust accordingly. There are fewer insects to eat due to what humans have done to the planet over the decades.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decline_in_insect_populations  In particular: Habitat Loss and Fragmentation: Agricultural Chemicals: Climate Change: Pollution: Invasive Species: There is even a case for not feeding birds due to the spread of disease through feeders, greenfinch population was decimated.   https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2025/jan/24/should-we-stop-feeding-birds-what-happens-if-we-do-and-does-it-spread-disease   I do feed the birds but keeping a watching eye on the evidence.   And I try to grow insect and bird friendly plants including attempts at a meadow.   There could also be an argument for not keeping cats as these may decimate bird populations.   https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2022/aug/14/cats-kill-birds-wildlife-keep-indoors   You will need squirrel proof feeders and even then you may have the starlings and green squwaky things eating most of the food left out for small birds.
    • Apparently this year due to the weather there are fewer insects for the birds to eat. So please if you don’t usually buy fat balls & seeds to put out (in safe places to avoid the cats ) a plentiful supply . They really need it this year, especially with snow forecast later this week.    Thankyou
    • I hope she and the rider of the bike are ok. I feel its understandable that locals may be concerned when they see a road taped off and police presence.
