As we have a cartoon crush thread and a loopy lust figures thread, I was wondering if anyone else on here has a ridiculous secret crush on another forum user whom they have never met?

Sometimes people who make me laugh or interest me with their post gets me thinking about what they look like. I'm probably way off the mark in my thoughts, but I guess that's the beauty of t'interweb.

Sean, that is because you are a man of impeccable sense.

I am not. Annasfield, I've totally had crushes on forumites, but I'm not saying who on the offchance I do one day make it to forum drinks. I find that often the crush wears off smartish when they say something I consider incompatible with my delicate sensibilities.

I take it from the posing of the question that you have had a crush or two yourself..?

Me. Have a crush on a forumer?

No, don't be silly. Whaat? I can't believe you said that.

That is so, like f@cking cringe. Like I ever would, yea? I mean, as if.

I mean, who would? In their right mind? I mean, no way, right? You're kidding, aren't you?

Ooh, so according to you, it's just like, talk and hmmm and then stuff like just happens.

Just like that. Whooaaah. Think not. So not. WHAT ARE YOU SAYING???

It's just the most like wrong thing, to even like consider that I might be considering a crush on someone on the EDT when in the same time I could be calling Jeremy Kyle, is f@cking insulting to me man. Not to mention to the woman whose child she is unsure is mine. But she is still prepared to appear on 'NATIONAL TV'tm and drown in the humiliation of the DNA test, the 'lie-detector and the ugliness of our family members.

But all that said Annasfield, IF I was looking for a new bitch...

If they aren't then can I suggest that they talk to Eva at the Rye hotel, they are doing a singles night soon (date to be announced) and I am sure that it will provide an outlet for all this pent up frustration.

I am currently sharing my flat with a temporarily orphaned Goldfish and a footloose Cactus. No romance there then.

I havent had a crush on anyone in the virtual world, apart from Mockney Piers and lets face it, everybody has had a crush on HIM, callous heart-breaker that he is.

I have had vague crushes on Forumites I have met ... and then I got to know them a bit better :))

    • This week's edition of The Briefing Room I found really useful and impressively informative on the training aspect.  David Aaronovitch has come a long way since his University Challenge day. 😉  It's available to hear online or download as mp3. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002n7wv In a few days time resident doctors -who used to be known as junior doctors - were meant to be going on strike. This would be the 14th strike by the doctors’ union since March 2023. The ostensible reason was pay but now the dispute may be over without more increases to salary levels. The Government has instead made an offer to do something about the other big issue for early career doctors - working conditions and specialist training places. David Aaronovitch and guests discuss what's going on and ask what the problem is with the way we in Britain train our doctors? Guests: Hugh Pym, BBC Health Editor Sir Andrew Goddard, Consultant Gastroenterologist Professor Martin McKee, Professor of European Public Health, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine Mark Dayan, Policy Analyst, Nuffield Trust. Presenter: David Aaronovitch Producers: Caroline Bayley, Kirsteen Knight, Cordelia Hemming Production Co-ordinator: Maria Ogundele Sound Engineers: Michael Regaard, Gareth Jones Editor: Richard Vadon
