Not sure I get the VHS connotation, however, finally, a post which hasn't made me cringe at your bigoted views!

There's a nice one in Upland Road, then there's Chener Books on L.L..... Oh no I can hear those voices in my head shouting LEAVE IT SON.....LEAVE IT!!!!!!

Loving the thread but rather boringly can only think it's part of the planning permission for a luxury house with 2 stories plus basement development that was posted on the lamp post 6-8 months ago. I wonder if the basements planned for the other side of the street (old police station)will meet and provide a subterranean community.

I imagine if I gave a s*it I would probably take this as a compliment but tbh, I don't give a toss whether you like my "bigoted views" or not. Nice to know you care enough to post a response to my initial comment though :-)

That might be the 'garden centre' behind it. Permission has been granted to build there.

Nice to see you admitting you're a bigot.

Well...could it double up as both? It seems there's a lot of up-tight people around here who could do with some sort of release..it's not really my style though.

    • I imagine Franco Manca's business dropped off quite a bit when Yard Sale opened (though isn't Yard Sale delivery only?) But in any case, both of those are chains.
    • Thanks. I'll call them shortly as I could get there without the car.  That's good of Sainsburys! We've done the apple pie and tart thing, an ongoing muesli thing and the coleslaw thing - just not sure what effect all the sugars are having on our digestive tracts.
    • One time Sainsbury's delivered 6 bags of apples instead of 6 single apples which I couldn't possibly get through. I phoned Pecan in Peckham to ask if they would accept them despite their website stating no fresh foods. I must have phoned at just the right time as they were happy to accept them. Sainsburys gave me a refund so the donation was courtesy of them. Or you could experiment with all kinds of apple recipes and write a blog about it
    • There's a food bank off Dog Kennel Hill. Albrighton Community Fridge. https://www.albrightoncommunityfridge.org/ I'm sure they would welcome them, but maybe check first, as they don't actually mention fresh fruit on their website? But apples aren't that perishable. Drop off seven days a week 9 - 5. Be warned if you are going by car, parking can be very difficult, easiest if there are two of you so one person can take the food in while the other can move the car if necessary.
