New bakery on LL

Walked by new bakery called Lucas on LL near Moxtons and asked guy (possibly the owner) working there when they are opening. They are aiming for Wednesday (ie tomorrow) apparently!

Why does he look so sad? The Hulk is usually a tower of rage.

Alternatively, he could be viewed as a sort of 3rd Form (remember that?) geography drawing, including lots of hills and possibly even an oxbow lake.

Perhaps he's just realised that he looks nothing like The Hulk, and is, in fact, rubbish and turquoise.

Of course as all comic book geeks know the Hulk was originally grey so it's not as innaccurate as first derided.

I'd quite like a good quality apple turnover please if they're taking requests. How long has it been as well? I swear those girls started outside Moxons nearly a year ago.

But does anyone know where their actual bakery is located, as distinct from the shop/retail outlet for their produce?

Actual bakery is in West Dulwich. It's all made daily on site there and brought over to the stall/shop.

Let's hope the loaves can manage the culture shock of being born into the uptown boulevards of West Dulwich, and then being sold on the mean streets of the East Side.

Well it opened today, and has tables and chairs outside under a canopy too. It was not fully stocked when I went in but looks like it might be very busy at weekends! And I could not resist buying something from the larege bowl of brownies....>:D

Nipped in for a quick cuppa there today on the way back from errands, like the bright seating area at the back, hope the place does well.

A svelte Forumite and I met there on Friday and ate half a plate of assorted delicious goodies each. And yes there were chocolate brownies, and they were most fine. And then we declared we couldn't eat another mouthful. And then we ate the other half of the goodies.

I'm just wiping away the crumbs of a chocolate brownie bought from there this afternoon. Very nice. Also nice is the (still unidentified but delicious) chocolate covered thing... kind of gingery, nutty, flapjack like thing with a thick coating of chocolate.

I feel sick, but in a good way ;-)

Yes. Sick. That's how I felt one cake before the end.

But I ate the last cake anyway, and it hasn't killed me. There's a lesson in there somewhere.
