I believe people prefer associating their area with a name such as East Dulwich rather then a code like SE22/SE15 borders. It's nicer to relate to a name, "Where did you grow up?" "Well I was born in RH12, lived in HS1 for a bit them settled in BA14", doesn't quite seem as personal.

Yeah totally agree, sorry wasn't suggesting this be the SE22 forum. I personally just don't like the name "the lounge". But hey ho, I'm not losing sleep over it, and I'm sure the world will keep turning either way...

I suppose if we had 'ED Issues' and 'Beyond ED' there might be less of a feeling that what is now 'the Lounge' is for trivia: it's sometimes referred to as the 'less serious' part of the Forum. In reality quite often the ED Issues is full of threads about very minor things like bus times and what someone thinks of the service in a particular caf?, whereas the Lounge will be full of passionate debate about politics or ethics.

Of course there's room for all kinds of discussions, and clearly people want to talk about serious issues both local and general, and have a laugh as well - I'm not suggesting either is less valuable.

I'm not a big fan of calling it 'the Lounge' either, but I'd never have thought to mention it had someone else not brought it up, the title is really not important.

Dead exciting this today innit. Initiating hostilities with Nunhead on one front whilst offering an olive branch to Forest Hill on the other by inviting them to neutral ground in Peckham who is also poking its head into proceedings.

I?m just waiting for someone to invade Poland.

    • You are not the only one no. Local residents are fighting Lambeth through the courts over the increased use of Brockwell Pak for these types of events. And there is the GALA festival on the Rye this weekend, also unbearable at times, although it seems to be a bit quieter today. Brockwell Park is probably more complicated in terms of noise management, because the entire park is on the side of a hill. The Rye at least is sunken in a bit where they locate the festival.
    • This evening is fine, have pm'd address Annie
    • We are half an hour’s walk from Brockwell park and yet the noise and bass from the festival has been relentless and unbearable all weekend. Am I the only one who thinks it’s unreasonable to cause such a nuisance over a prolonged period in a residential area?    We don’t benefit in any way from the event, and yet are expected to endure it.
    • That’s great, thank you. Is it empty? Asking as if so I could carry home. Are you in this evening?
