Adventure bar closing?

Recommended Posts

10 years ago people definitely did - the mix of places, and their proximity to each other coupled with the demographic that moved to the area shortly beforehand made for a lively night out.

It sounds odd now, but I definitely met many a person who had come out in Dulwich because of what they had heard/read about the Lane. Met some Mancs who were down in London for a long weekend and had planned a night out on Lordship Lane as one example

Totally agree with this. Although the cinema could make ED more of a destination.

A few tines I've been one of those late 30 something stragglers in there after a big night. But then you sober up slightly and realise your dancing on a table surrounded by 17 year olds.

The place was aimed at 18-24 demographic. Ask them and they liked it. No surprise the rest of you didn't.

I have to admit that i loved the place.

When i moved to dulwich almost 5 years ago i started going there few times a week. Bouncers and bartenders all knew our group and we really felt welcome there. Myself just loved the place because they playeddifferent music than any other bar ive been in Lomdon. And the atmosphere was just great for us. Dancing on the sofas and chairs. Being completely pissed.

Then changed my own job ad my drunken nights were finished in adventure. Went few times in the paat two years band have to say that i was really disappointed. All new adtenders(i know i know. They change quickly. And want to expand their knowledge and stuff..) the afmosphere was hiddous.and the music was the same bollocks which you can listen from capital fm.

After being a regular customer in there for at least two years. That change just felt like a stab on my ack. And yes i know. Ars needs to do changes to atgract more customers. But for the attraction was that it was proper different than any ar ive been into.

Shame theyve closed down. Luckily they have three other ones. Although they just are all the same.

Bah

Well Seabag,

To correct you. I haven't been out properly for three or four months. I don't like the feeling on the next day. And to be honest going to bars and clubs doesn't attract me anymore.

I have loads of mistakes in my writing as my phone i so crap that i only see a quarter of the writing and not even the spot wheres the cursor is.

So sorry to disappoint you Seabag.

Sometimes see taxis dropping groups off at Bishop etc, so yes DH must be an improvement on somewhere else.

I only went in a handful of times when it was the last place open after a long session elsewhere (or indeed a wedding). Not really my cup of tea at all, but had nothing against the place, it's nice that there is an option for differet people and age groups (basically I'd probably have quite liked the place in my early to mid 20s, it's just not for me now).

So for me it's a shame that it's gone, and I hope something interesting takes it's place, and not just another bar/pub with the same feel as every other bar/pub in the area, because that seems to be the danger these days.

Not that I ever actually go to any bars / pubs in that or any other area these days.
