Hi is there any news on this? I'm considering moving to Dulwich village from my current home on lordship lane. Found a lovely flat but have deep reservations about the area. I know it's pretty and all but doesn't seem to have many amenities!

I remember their Sunday roasts - which was basically a meat feast and quite scary.

Hopefully they'll put some decent food on the menu.

It's a great location.... perfect stop off on the way back from the park in the summer.

Fun fact: According to this, The Shard, one of Europe's tallest buildings was excavated and fully built in 3 years....that's less time than it has taken to refurbish a pub and sort out a listed wall / skittle alley in Dulwich Village. If this was a government project, heads would roll.

The people building The Shard did not have to negotiate with Dulwich Estates..

I wish I'd savoured the last time I was in the Dog more. I was middle aged when it closed and I've grown old and feeble waiting for it to reopen, and probably couldn't cope with the walk to the village now.

They've even taken down the sign ion the hoarding that had the continually changing expected opening date on it.

It's like they've given up hope!

I suspect if it were a government project, it would probably still be stuck in cycles of feasibility studies. Perhaps a few junior PwC consultants would be buzzing around, working on a "business transformation and streamlining" project.
