What happened?

Highly recommend Balfe's for servicing, they do a great job with my old bike, which I wouldn't trust Evans with. Evans are useful if you need clothes/accessories etc right away, as they have a wide range of stock in (and they do a LCC discount) but if I can wait I buy online, will usually be cheaper.

The Tiger Tea tea man is on the market today. He is only there once a month.

Lovely fellow. Bought some English Breakfast with Assam blend.

Ok does not sound very exciting but already have some Orange Ceylon Pekoe and some Gunpowder Green Tea.

Delightful.

Now look, no one minds this constant referring to yourself in the third person (after all, everyone who considers themselves a 'real character' does it don't they?) but at least be consistent would you please?

Apropos not very much, I do like this from the legend that is Chris Hoy:

Chris Hoy thinks that the day Chris Hoy refers to Chris Hoy in the third person is the day that Chris Hoy disappears up his own a***.

Chris Hoy on being asked what Chris Hoy thought of Chris Hoy

Resist what? I suppose next you'll be complaining about there being clouds over your street blown in from Clapham. At least this is what Meds thinks.

I was not complaining about anything..

I say something negative and get a tirade of abuse ..

I say something positive and I get stick...

People need to concentrate more on the dozens of posts from me that aim to help

those seeking information on local amenities and facilities.

I've been busy and am only half way through wading through all the posts on this thread but in case no one else noticed DulwichFox's error, there is (or at least has been until very recently) a Jamaican restaurant on East Dulwich Road. I get take away from there a few times a year.

Also, I ate at the Japanese place and its good.

The Nigiri pieces are for 2 pieces, the sashimi prices are for 3. The sushi roll is 6 pieces.

The Black cod was a bit sweet for my tastes but well cooked.

The deserts were good.

Overall, I'll be back.

it looked like a clothes market inside a shop when I passed a few days ago - is it going to be a restaurant?

Louisa, please I beg you... give it a rest. We know you don't like... well, lot's of people it seems, and that in your mind East Dulwich if full of people from Clapham, Peckham is Shoreditch and you literally can't step outside without being mowed down by cyclists, buggies or skateboarders, but it's getting so boring. You've made the point. You've made it many times. Change the record.
A restaurant so great that people (apart, apparently, from Louisa) stopped going to it. Whatever its absolutle merits, failing to meet the needs of its addressable customer base meant it lost its business. Tough. I have no brief for 'posh tat' - and if the (current crop of) locals don't either, it, too, will fail. But to wish to preserve some mythic past that you alone feel comfortable with, to the exclusion of the needs of those around you, is, well, sad. And stop being rude to people who are prepared to move round SE London. With your hatred of 'blow-ins' you make UKIP's case for them.

    • By now you’ve hopefully seen that our main demonstration against Trump’s state visit is in London on Wednesday. Many of you have also asked, though, about how you can help ‘welcome’ Donald Trump to Windsor when he arrives there tomorrow (Tuesday) evening. So here’s the plan: We’re asking you to come and line Windsor High Street tomorrow in a peaceful, static protest.  Time: 6pm, Tue 16 Sept Location: Assemble outside Windsor Parish Church, High St, Windsor SL4 1LS and then spread out along the High Street. Grab some cardboard and a pen and make a homemade sign to show Donald Trump and his supporters what you think of them!  The world’s media will be in Windsor to cover the state visit, so showing visually that he is not welcome will send an important message far and wide. If you are coming then please join this Signal chat group for important updates.     Protest safety Please buddy up and come with someone else You have a right to peacefully demonstrate, but we are expecting a high police presence. Remain non-violent and non-confrontational, and do not talk to the police. It may be better to dress inconspicuously, not like an ‘activist’ We plan on ending at 7.30pm. Please leave in groups of 5–10 and make sure you have a bust card This action is entirely legal but we still recommend that you read this key advice when going on a protest to know your rights. Remember:  No comment No personal details Ask ‘under what power?’ No duty solicitor Don’t accept a caution Here is the protest support line: 07946 541 511 and here is more information on Stop & Search under the Public Order Act.   Thank you for being part of the movement against Trump. In solidarity, Stop Trump Coalition
    • We booked a day when we could drop around 8 bags. They directed us to use the rear entrance on Carver Rd. I would definitely ring as they don’t seem to have much space at the back. Our experience was great, they were very polite and thankful.
