After the recent online mistreatment of DF I have taken it upon myself to setup a special thread in appreciation of his contribution to this forum as well as the local community of East Dulwich over the years. He is an informative, engaging and thoroughly decent poster to this forum who has always explained himself before posting and in my opinion, never once gone out of his way to upset or goad anyone. Here's to DF, an ED institution.

Remember foxes are for life, not just for EDF folks amusement.

What mistreatment? I don't recall any personal comments, just a bit of (very) gentle ribbing.

Besides, he is quick to point out the difference between his online persona (one of perpetual negativity) with the real man (the man all the local shopkeepers wave to, the card tricks, etc). In which case he should consider any perceived "attacks" (even though they are nothing of the sort) to be aimed at the former.

My only criticism of DF (the online version at least) is that he seems to be genuinely incapable of saying "hands up, I was wrong about that", even when presented with irrefutable facts. Gets quite frustrating.

`And there was the time he ASKED FOR FEEDBACK about a website he was putting together, but then took offence at or argued with every single comment, even though lots of people were giving him the same advise.

But that aside he's a nice fella.

I've never met Dulwich Fox in person but in the forum I admire the way he manages to conduct himself with dignity even when the Lounge hounds (NB extended metaphor not a personal criticism of clique members past or present) are snapping at him.

Foxy is the only poster over the years I have tried to imagine them IRL. Saw a Bernard Cribbins lookalike outside Jaflong giving it a wistful look yesterday who is my most recent suspect.

May I suggest a croudsourced membership pack, a la, the old Dennis the Menace one, with a wallet and badge?

    • While they struggle with economics of UK plc, collectively we all suffer as a result of their ineptitude.
    • I’ve tried to find details of surgeries being held before but not found any. The section of the Southwark website that details councillors’ surgeries says that: Your locally elected Councillors will be holding a roving surgery programme in the Dulwich Hill area to enable residents to raise any local issues. Residents will be notified by letter in advance of the date, time and specific streets/roads where the surgery will take place.  Surgeries are not held in August, on Bank Holidays, Easter or in Christmas Week.  Dulwich Hill Ward Councillors I’ve never seen any notification of surgeries being held, including on the DH councillors’ social media accounts. I don’t know if any other residents of Dulwich Hill have? Neighbouring wards all seem to have times and places posted for surgeries.
    • I wouldn't feel too bad about that. It's one of the few degree areas that you can do a BA or a BSc in, so it's a fairly wide-ranging and complex subject. Certainly Truss, Kwasi and Reeves seem to struggle with it.
    • I can't access the article - what's the gist?  I took the markets getting jittery when she was crying at PMQs to be a sign that they trusted her. But maybe it was because they were simply worried about any form of instability.  The NIC hikes have stymied the economy, which we could all see a mile off. Will a wealth tax improve things? Does anyone here think the trickle down has any impact and that chasing out the super rich will help things? Or are we just seeing off the biggest contributors to the economy? And has the Kwasi approach ever worked anywhere else?  Economics is not my strong point at all, I'd love to know others' opinions, but it seems to be she has few options, especially as the party is so divided.
