Anyone know what the police census on Denmark Hill this morning around 08:00 is about?

They're traffic based for TfL. The police are only there because they're the ones with the authority to actually pull motorists over. There was one at the end of Wood Vale last month and they're also on Red Post Hill today.

Are you obliged to participate? With the police being there it seems that way but I doubt there's any law that says you must. Anyone know for sure?

I was stopped by them at the bottom of Maxted Road on Wednesday evening and I took part in the survey but to me it seemed pointless. I was driving to Kingston, I didnt know the postcode of the address I was going to and I was not prepared to give my full home postcode out either. So he had East Dulwich and Kingston out of me.

Why was a fully uniformed copper stopping traffic for this nonsense when he could have been dealing with real crime down in Peckham somewhere? What a waste of our resources.

I pulled away from the cones to avoid being done again and the cop walked over and asked why I said I have done it twice already he said wave your card that they give you and they will wave you on.
