Old TV shows

Recommended Posts

Anyone got a nostalgic craving for a TV series from yesteryear that's now defunct? Let's share. I was browsing YouTube earlier and came across 'Tales of the Unexpected'. The intro and musical accompaniment brought back a bag full of happy memories. Written of course by the fantastic Roald Dahl. Anyone have any other memories?

I also suggest:

Ballykissangel

Brushstrokes

Howard's Way

Louisa.

They're bringing Twin Peaks back.

My family loved this when it first aired, I was only a kid. Years later when I was at uni it was shown as daytime TV. It had aged REALLY badly in a decade, and that was two decades ago.

Thanks to this idea I found there are many episodes of Alf on U Tube. I watched one this morning with Spike Milligan as an Irish Paki. It's so PC incorrect, but an idiot should see the laugh was really on Alf and his views. He used so many words which just wouldn't be allowed on TV now. Must be a typical West Ham fan.

Warren Mitchell is Jewish and I believe was well used to racial stereotyping. The whole point of All was to show how stupid these attitudes are.

He did an audience with All in the 90s, made me laugh a lot.
