Nero
I saw the Emirates one the other week, right over Dunstan's/Goodrich area. And the Qantas one I spotted in the distance a few weeks before that. Saw one right close up in Sydney - massive! Asset
ooo, I've been looking out for them but not seen one yet - I take it it's obvious when you spot one. Michael Palaeologus
It is the biggest thing in the sky but is very quiet, so they can sneak over without being noticed.A380 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6174-aviation-buffs-a380-just-flown-over/#findComment-198098 Share on other sites
Peckhamgatecrasher
Anyone else noticed how low flying planes have been in the last fortnight? Well under the 2000 feet that MP claimed in his letter to Tessa Jowell. plimsoul
i'd love to catch a look, is there a regular flight to look out for? having lived under a flight path all my life this question is less stupid than it sounds. you used to be able to set your watch to concord...back in the days, whole playgrounds of kids shouting concord and pointing up to the sky. DaveR
I flew back from Singapore on an A380 last week.No different to a 747 when you're sitting inside, tbh.Except the inflight entertainment system kept crashing. It was a very long flight. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6174-aviation-buffs-a380-just-flown-over/#findComment-198222 Share on other sites

It was a very long flight.came back from Cambodia via S'pore last week also. Pore is a dreadful place. It was me who sat behind you, kicking the back of your seat and crying BTW Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6174-aviation-buffs-a380-just-flown-over/#findComment-198398 Share on other sites
Huguenot
Any place has got good and bad bits. Singapore's worst places are Boat Quay and Clarke Quay - the purpose built tourist venues by the business district.Evens so, they're only as bad as Canary Wharf and those naff little buffed-up warehouses round there.London's dreadful if you spend the night in a Wetherspoon. etc. etc. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6174-aviation-buffs-a380-just-flown-over/#findComment-198413 Share on other sites
Asset
back on topic, I think I may have just seen the beast, about 12.30 as I left the park. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6174-aviation-buffs-a380-just-flown-over/#findComment-198424 Share on other sites
Marmora Man
I liked S'pore when I was there but I was a young naval officer celebrating my 21st birthday in Boogie Street - playing tic tac toe with youngster for a singaporean $, drinking Tiger beer, eating from roadside stalls and being entertained by some very friendly QUANTAS airhostesses and avoiding the ladyboys. I thought it was fantastic - but I'm sure its now sanitised and tidy state would be less exotic. Huguenot
I've flown the 380 a couple of times. The most noticeable contrast was that I kind of got used to aeroplanes 'leaping' into the air after V2, that doesn't happen with one of these elephants.
