sillywoman
5 kids! I wonder whether Alleyns, or someone on their behalf has to notify other schools near them? Will this have any impact on Goodrich, Heber, DVI, Bessemer, DHJS and The Charter? Will they have to close for a while too? Asset
that's what I wondered, charter and alleyn's had a swimming gala last week and I know many of the kids from the two school are friends. trident
It's all over the news, so I'm guessing the other schools will be aware of it. One of the children at Alleyns has siblings in several other schools in the vicinity, so presumably they'll have been notified. intexasatthe moment
If the real concern with swine flu is that there will be a second more serious wave in the Autumn should we actually be trying to catch it now and by so doing build up immunity .Or because it's a virus doesn't it work like that? Asset
Flu is pretty damn nasty whatever type it is. I have had it once in my life and was very ill. It's not to be sneezed at.Alleyn's has 5 confirmed cases Sean, more to follow I expect. But I don't think it's that alarming as from what I understand it has mutated since killing people in Mexico and is no more harmless to anyone who catches it here than normal flu, so anxiety is mostly down to media hype I think... SeanMacGabhann
I don't believe they are 5 cases (and more to follow) of a dangerous fluSome people are feeling poorly - even with normal flue which is admittedly grimBut this is not the beginning of "something" Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6186-swine-flu-in-dulwich-se22/#findComment-198481 Share on other sites
Julia
These people have had samples sent off to medical labs and have had the virus confirmed, you can't fake that... SeanMacGabhann
I'm not saying these people aren't illBut is it part of some global pandemic of something more serious than normal flu? If 5 people in SE22 have it then it would most likely be more part of a much wider picture Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/6186-swine-flu-in-dulwich-se22/#findComment-198485 Share on other sites
