Here lies the crux of your pathetic, vinegar-faced view. It's not your thing, I think we ALL get it. Stick with the myriad curry places of ED(most are good at selling anglo-indian fare) and I can go to PL , safe in the knowledge that you will be outside, looking at your watch.

What on earth are you talking about..??

Selective reading... Read all my posts like this one..

Vast improvement to the aesthetics of the place. Now looks welcoming. Interior looks nice. Place was full 9.00pm.

I suspect more people will now try it out.

Don't post ridiculous comments about me thinking it will make you more popular with a few other users.

How many times have you commented about what time it was closed?

It's not about popularity. It's about you continually digging at a new business you've never been to, don't want to go to and then, ridiculously, comparing the price to a Curry House as that is and should be the benchmark of EVERYTHING.

I have only criticised the name... Lots of people have done the same in this thread without being slagged off.

Had it not occurred to anyone that the reason I noticed it was closed is that had it had been open I may of

wanted to pop in for a drink.. I don't now if you can just have a drink. The blanked out windows made it difficult

to see what was on offer there. Now that the window has been opened up, I looked in but could not see any Bar Pumps.

Does not mean they don't have any.. I just could not see any... from my disadvantaged view.

People here (EDF) seem adopt an opinion that just because I don't watch films, eat Pizza, and other things

that I wish these businesses to fail.. That is not the case..

3 other businesses have failed at this location to enable P.L. the opportunity to set up there..

What about them.. No one gives a S**t.

Ahhhh - the excuse "most people thought we were a bar" feels a bit thin.

It's quite OK for a brand to be open and agile and respond to its customers/potential customers and just say:

"We admit it guys, our name was gash, we changed it!"

Fair play for making the change though, must have been a tough decision to make.

Sorry, but for some reason I can't get into Facebook at the moment. Am I right in understanding that the place is no longer called Pussey Liquor but is now called Platform 1? If so, criticisms of its former name are presumably vindicated and people who were put off going there because of the name may now give it a try.

Well that and the removal of the blanked out window allowing people to see in..

like I said earlier, it looks nice.. why conceal it in the first place.. ?

A curmudgeon ? Do know what it means.. I'm not sure you do.. You have never met me...

Back on subject .. Myself and a few others were able to get them to change their name.. and they

did remove the top half of the blanking material (as I alone had an issue with) which has made a vast improvement as I have said earlier.

It's good they do listen to peoples opinions and now we all know what's on offer.. and I'm sure it will do well.

There is a lot of interest.

DulwichFox..

PS Dulwich Tandoori is NOT a Dodgy curry place.. It is full most nights 40+ people ? so is very popular.

Try getting a table at the week end without booking. I'ts a favourite of Curry Club

I don't really know what all this fuss is about a NAME of a bar/restaurant. The name Pussy Liquor is no big deal - I feel like you guys all have a dirty/worrying mind. Pussy = a Cat which was their Logo and Liquor = What they sell! Having been in their very recently and spending a good amount of my time and money it was worth every minute of my time and every penny of my pound. The owner whom I must say was such a great host was vey honest and made me feel at ease and at home within seconds of me walking thru the door. Having seen such negative posts I felt it nessacary to ask a little into it - She laughed it all off - a better person would! It was all explained - About the name and why the change. For starters Dulwich Fox - get off your high horse they did not do it for your sake and why would they - have you even had a drink in there - no I doubt it. The reason they changed their name was due to the guys wanting to start promoting arts, music, food, drinks and what ever else they wish to do on "THIER" premises.

I and my girlfriend had an extremely good night - what with the such attentive staffing - the outside area I would say is one of the best in ED off the main road. The reason for the frosted glass was thats its an ADULTS PLAYGROUND so privacy was wanted so us ADULTS could enjoys ourselves without the prying, moaning eye of such people who feel the need to put every other life lover down. They have not removed the frosting due to takings being down of any of the moaning and complaints - as actual trade was booming - when I was in there the till was flooded. Many company rebrand - just like most of the high street shop s we all visit every day.

All I can say is keep up the PUKKA work "C" I know your not commenting on here but you know who you are! All the best for the future! As for seeing you soon I'll be in for another of those minature (specially made for me) Rum with lime - you know who I am - Blast from the past!

PS - Id love you to open a little sister branch called Cock Sucker! LOL - sorry couldn't resist! Obviously selling chickens and lollipops of course! ;-) Who wouldn't want to suck on a chicken flavoured lollipop? And before you moan vegans, vegetarians - YOUR the minority here! Oh sh*t I've opened up a can of worms here I feel?!

Oh well done. You "managed to get them to change the name". What a local hero you are, it's all down to you. You're definitely a curmudgeon.

I don't throw insults at people here. I say it to their face.

Coq Succour ? the much needed antidote to Nando's. Not a bad idea. Wonder if I can trademark that?

Meanwhile, looking forward to trying Platform 1. I would never have known about it without this thread!

    • The current wave of xenophobia is due to powerful/influential people stirring up hatred.  It;'s what happened in the past, think 1930s Germany.  It seems to be even easier now as so many get their information from social media, whether it is right or wrong.  The media seeking so called balance will bring some nutter on, they don't then bring a nutter on to counteract that. They now seem to turn to Reform at the first opportunity. So your life is 'shite', let;s blame someone else.  Whilst sounding a bit like a Tory, taking some ownership/personal responsibility would be a start.  There are some situations where that may be more challenging, in deindustrialised 'left behind' wasteland we can't all get on our bikes and find work.  But I loathe how it is now popular to blame those of us from relatively modest backgrounds, like me, who did see education and knowledge as a way to self improve. Now we are seen by some as smug liberals......
    • Kwik Fit buggered up an A/C leak diagnosis for me (saying there wasn't one, when there was) and sold a regas. The vehicle had to be taken to an A/C specialist for condensor replacement and a further regas. Not impressed.
    • Yes, these are all good points. I agree with you, that division has led us down dangerous paths in the past. And I deplore any kind of racism (as I think you probably know).  But I feel that a lot of the current wave of xenophobia we're witnessing is actually more about a general malaise and discontent. I know non-white people around here who are surprisingly vocal about immigrants - legal or otherwise. I think this feeling transcends skin colour for a lot of people and isn't as simple as, say, the Jew hatred of the 1930s or the Irish and Black racism that we saw laterally. I think people feel ignored and looked down upon.  What you don't realise, Sephiroth, is that I actually agree with a lot of what you're saying. I just think that looking down on people because of their voting history and opinions is self-defeating. And that's where Labour's getting it wrong and Reform is reaping the rewards.
    • @Sephiroth you made some interesting points on the economy, on the Lammy thread. Thought it worth broadening the discussion. Reeves (irrespective of her financial competence) clearly was too downbeat on things when Labour came into power. But could there have been more honesty on the liklihood of taxes going up (which they have done, and will do in any case due to the freezing of personal allowances).  It may have been a silly commitment not to do this, but were you damned if you do and damned if you don't?
