I go down the A2, go through Blackwall tunnel then use the M11 via the A12 to get to the M25. It seems the quickest way to get to the M25 to me with the least sets of traffic lights and all dual carriageway. then its about 6 miles around the m25

no, last saturday morning i left at 9 from peckham rye park and was on the m25 35 mins later

I have done it in 35 mins at 0500 or an hourish when roads busy, in a combi.

ALSO - you don't pay congestion charge via this route, it's a kind of 'corridor of immunity' from the charge which I think many people don't know about.

Because the M1 starts at North West London! You have to go West at some point!

It is a north-west direction from here, but a straight line is a better route no? west and then north is two sides of the triangle.

Professional Drivers I know quote the easterly route - Rotherhythe Tunnel, M11 and then upward until the M1 hoves into view to the left. Havent got an atlas with me at the moment.

Asset, I have to concede that your route looks reasonable. But if you check out the Victoria route on a map, it is also consistently going NW. In fact, because I am pedantic, I just plotted both of them out, and the distances were near identical. (the Victoria route was about 0.3 miles shorter, but there will be a margin of error).
