I think West Ham will go in freefall financially if they don't get up so I'll take 2nd whatever the football's like - fairly average but probably about the best we can hope for with the players we've got (plus a fair few injuries). Getting stuffed playing pretty football gets as boring after a while and it's a long slog out of this division. If it wasn't for two shoddy injury time goals we'd be just a point behind Saints too.
I've been to see the Hammers 5 times this season (yes I know, even after spitting my dummy re Allardyce) and it ain't pretty. Everything centres around Nolan, with pretty and ineffective passing around the fringes before the inevitable hoof to an isolated Cole/Carew with Nolan picking up the knock down. This is how it's going to be for us all season. I know its a tough league and Prehistoric Sam will probably get us up but for now I'm just glad its kids for a quid regularly so I can use my kids as an excuse to watch this stuff.

Disappointing loss for Leeds there. A draw would have been fair. We had more possession and chances throughout but Brum hit well on the break and always looked dangerous when going forward. I'm happy with our current form though after a terrible start to the season.

Can't disagree that Leeds deserved a point - especially given a couple fo top quality saves Myhill had to make. What let them down was the lack of quality in the final ball, which led to too many long balls to the edge of the penalty area that were meat and drink to Caldwell and Davies.

Good to see both teams approach the game in a positive attitude.

Tickets at Selhurst Park only ?10 for adults and ?1 for children this Saturday for Palace Vs Reading; it's 'Family Day.' Only a couple of thousand left though so you'll need to be quick. You'll also need a ST holder reference to buy them over the phone - happy to provide mine by PM to anyone who wants to go along.

Palace are playing some fantastic football at the mo - the entry fee alone covers the joy of seeing Wilf Zaha tears strips out of whichever poor left back he's up against.

Well done to all concerned in the recent game between Doncaster and Middlesborough, nice displays of humanity and sensitivity all round. Take heed Tevez, Billy Sharp lost a son and still insisted on playing, at ?250,000 a week, do you think you might consider it?

Credit where credit is due. After a dire first half the Hammers put in a bit of a masterclass of quality football. I took my daughters and both ended the game on their seats singing and applauding. Well done BFS, you did well.

On another note and another thread I have to mention Gary Speed. I was truly stunned and saddened to hear of his death this lunchtime, tragic.

    • I've noticed the foxes are very frisky at the moment, it's mating season. Perhaps it was a male fox who saw you as a danger to his vixen and wanted to see you off.
    • I’m not sure how many other people have experienced this; but both me and one of my friends have the same story. Around Crawthew Grove and Crystal Palace Road: I was followed by a large fox right on my heel. At first I didn’t notice because I had my headphones on, but then I noticed my shadow had an extra lump in it, funnily enough, it was a fox, very very close to my feet. Even if I sped up walking it just tried to get closer - it was quite frightening actually, it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me. I didn’t know what to do so, I started to reprimand the fox and walked slowly away from it, facing it - which it didn’t seem to like and backed off a bit. I then proceeded to speed-walk away.   Quite frankly, the whole situation was quite embarrassing and a little bit frightful as I’d never had a fox even come up to me. I’ve heard of particularly curious foxes that might come up to someone who beckons them, and maybe even bite that person, but I’ve never heard of a fox chasing someone. The amount of confidence that it had was incredible.    When it happened, I was on the way to see some friends, and once I had told one of them, she told me the same thing happened to her.  if anyone else knows anything about this bitey fox then let me know!
    • Another recommendation for Andy. I needed an old kitchen removed as an emergency. Andy came over quickly and did a fantastic job. I have used Andy a few times. He is punctual, helpful and always does an  excellent job.
