But you have a clowns name JoJo!

"Parp parp"

mmmmmm I think you've got this wrong Chair- why is Keef's guitar thread not back in here on your logic? The lounge is discussion the drawing room debate, or so it says on the tin . I think the OP only put this in here because they were new. I reckon you could have half the lounge in here on those grounds.

Of course I understand the principle of some interesting philisophical offshoots from these sorts of threads but they fit better in the lounge too.

yours a confused quids

In theory Chair is right, you can have a serious discussion about any subject. But I would've thought it rests with the OP to decide whether they want their thread to be discussed as a serious topic in The Drawing Room or more lightheartedly in The Lounge. Quids is right, Keef's guitar thread has every right to be in here, believe me there are some serious musos out there who are more than capable of getting all philosophical about the merits of owning a Les Paul. On the other hand, if Keef sticks in the Lounge he can't have any complaints if someone then flippantly posts a picture of George Formby with his ukelele under the caption 'turned out nice again - Fenders are for benders!'.

When I first popped into the Drawing Room I saw the 'Is there a God' thread, sighed, and hightailed in out of here. But I'm sure over time it will settle down and find it's raison d'etre...

As this is a discussion about clowns in the Drawing Room I would have hoped that people would respect that and stayed on topic, going off topic is something we'd like deter on discussions in the Drawing Room. I would suggest that if don't agree with the Chair's decision, PM the Chair rather than spoil other people's discussions

This topic's in The Drawing Room so the (removed) jokey comments about "they are the scourge of SE22 and will soon be in the Lounge", "parp parp" and "child abduction" made it Lounge worthy (although confusingly the actual topic itself makes it open to humour).

Anyway this new room's a learning process and Red devil's last line summed it up nicely, "...I'm sure over time it will settle down and find it's raison d'etre..."

Clowns: I think it's the fact you can see they're not smiling under the painted on smile that alludes to their insincerity and potential hidden depths of nastiness.

I think this Drawing Room idea is crap. Most people don't know what they are if they have one in their big ED homes, and others may not know the historical significance of them.

Lounge - Drawing Room - Kitchen.

Just rooms in a House.

Chair - I would like to have an EGM about the getting rid of Drawing Room or renaming it to "Serious discussions about stuff only, no really" thread.

    • It looks as though there will be 10 of us!  We are going to Love Dulwich again for a lunch and will checkout their 'normal' menu - from what we remember from the last 2 times we went = there was plenty to satisfy every one and they were happy to take party bookings.- Hubby and I have worked out that if all our daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren were  to come - there would be 20 of us!! As it is - the Essex  family branch live too far away to come over for an evening - so we will meet up in Essex at a later date.

    • Just to warn anyone thinking of employing or engaging Chris and Anna Richmond, that nothing has changed.  The accounts above from others are all too familiar.  A job that we were told would take between 6-8 months is now entering its 23rd month.  They have taken enormous amounts of money from us, finished nothing, and the quality of the work that they have delivered is poor to substandard.  They take no responsibility themselves - there are endless excuses and everything is someone else's fault.  They do not care about the impact that their actions have on anyone else.   They are, at best, chaotic. They have not delivered as the designers or project managers that they claim to be. They are rarely on site to monitor the progress or quality of the job that is being delivered and they and manage their largely non-English speaking workforce by WhatsApp and Google translate.  There has been little evidence that they employ the skilled tradespeople needed to lay tiles, install bathrooms and kitchens, decorate and complete to the standard that we have paid for.  I cannot stress enough, that if you are currently in discussion with Anna and Chris Richmond about a future job or have paid them money up front for a job that they have slipped in delivering, to quit while you are ahead.  Things won't get better.
    • Hi All, I’d like to recommend Aaron Manser, who several others on this forum have also used. Aaron is an excellent plasterer, and has just finished a complicated piece of plastering work for me, including a large expanse of ceiling. His work has been of the highest quality, his attention to detail is exceptional, and he’s also very quick, and tidy too. As an added bonus he has a lovely singing voice. Happy to provide any photos of the work he has done. This is the third time over the past few years I’ve had Aaron back. Aaron Manser - 07773 410661 Regards, Damien
