I know this is a bit of a cr*p thread, BUT does anyone know where there is a decent passport photo booth in the vicinity. The one at Sainsbury's is not there at the mo'. I went to the place on LL where a guy takes a snap with a digicam but I have to say the photo's are unusable! The lighting is horrendously unflattering, I'm not beng overly vain as my son - who I think is gorgeous - also came out looking completely weird.

Anyway if anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Well the one at Peckham station doesn't work so don't bother with that. I ended up getting mine done last week at London Bridge station, except none of the booths have curtains in them. How embarassing! Plus the pics looked really ropey - too dark. I ended up getting my boyfriend to take the pics and print out on photo paper which looked the best in the end!

Asset - this is a top thread, don't beat yourself up! It seems v hard to find a photo booth locally (and even elsewhere -couldn't find one in the West End recently-not at Bond St/Oxford St tubes nor on Oxford Street). Would prefer to pay the local photo shops, but have had their photos rejected by the passport office.

The photo me booth website supposedly has a "find your nearest booth" service coming soon...but it has said that for a good few months.Good luck.JM

half the time its not the quality of the photo but whether or not the photo meets the standards of the passport office,ie size of picture,no smiling, hair over face, etc. i got a passport for my daughter last year and the photos were rejected i sent them back with a covering note mentioning that the subject was only 3 yrs old and was,nt able to strike a pose like an adult could, they were accepted.

    • I've noticed the foxes are very frisky at the moment, it's mating season. Perhaps it was a male fox who saw you as a danger to his vixen and wanted to see you off.
    • I’m not sure how many other people have experienced this; but both me and one of my friends have the same story. Around Crawthew Grove and Crystal Palace Road: I was followed by a large fox right on my heel. At first I didn’t notice because I had my headphones on, but then I noticed my shadow had an extra lump in it, funnily enough, it was a fox, very very close to my feet. Even if I sped up walking it just tried to get closer - it was quite frightening actually, it was quite clear that it wanted to nip me. I didn’t know what to do so, I started to reprimand the fox and walked slowly away from it, facing it - which it didn’t seem to like and backed off a bit. I then proceeded to speed-walk away.   Quite frankly, the whole situation was quite embarrassing and a little bit frightful as I’d never had a fox even come up to me. I’ve heard of particularly curious foxes that might come up to someone who beckons them, and maybe even bite that person, but I’ve never heard of a fox chasing someone. The amount of confidence that it had was incredible.    When it happened, I was on the way to see some friends, and once I had told one of them, she told me the same thing happened to her.  if anyone else knows anything about this bitey fox then let me know!
    • Another recommendation for Andy. I needed an old kitchen removed as an emergency. Andy came over quickly and did a fantastic job. I have used Andy a few times. He is punctual, helpful and always does an  excellent job.
