It's come to my attention in my thread about endorsing Dulwich park that annaj is alway's right. Apart from being a doctor and valuable pillar of society she's incredibly adept in highlighting the mistakes made by gobshite such as myself.

She does the above with such patience and virtue that it's quite a humbling experience to be corrected by such a force for good.

So,

why is annaj always right as well as being such an awesome woman?

The J household.

Anna: "Hi darling, I'm home."

BN5: "My love, how was today's crusade."

Anna: "Rise from the floor my dear, I don't deserve such praise."

BN5: "I can't help it my love, you relieve the suffering of so many as well as correct the spelling of lesser men."

Anna: "That may be my love but it's my calling and I'd be selfish to ignore it."

BN5: "Oh, a young chap who calls himself bigbadwolf dropped by."

Anna: "Oh yes, what did he want?"

BN5: "He said he had a dream where a dam collapsed but you saved everyone from certain death by using your devine powers of healing and wisdom to hold the structure from failing as well as saving everyone threatened by it."

Anna: "Oh that, it was no trouble at all, I was happy to help."

BN5: "Good God my love!! You're even awesome and polite in other peoples sleep!"

Anna: "Oh it's no trouble at all."

Well, this is very odd indeed.

I think Michael is closest to the truth when it comes to the matter of my correctness, although, as PGC pointed out, wide of the mark on the delicate subject of my maidenhood.

But in the words of the good fairy at my christening...

Stop it. It's getting very silly.

Yeah, come on you lot, leave it out eh.

In all serious though, I am an admirer of annaj and bignumber5 who've proved themselves as very clear and concise posters who are more than able to brush aside the nonsensical ramblings/pisstakes of a pup such as myself.

It's a bit like being told to shut up by mother Teresa and Tony Benn, pipe and sandals an all.

    • Hospices are coming under increasing pressure at the moment. Not only have their costs been forced up by the increase in employers NI and possibly the minimum wage for some workers, but the recent assisted dying legislation, which forces doctors faced with patients likely to die to offer suicide as a way out means that numbers of hospice doctors will withdraw as they don't ethically hold with the legislation. Additionally we might anticipate a reduction in research on end-of-life care and pain alleviation where the government is supporting an alternative (and one far cheaper than proper end-of-life care). This all brings pressure on the hospice movement as the assisted dying philosophy runs counter to it. It is hardly surprising then that they are looking to gain as much benefit as they can from higher prices.
    • There are plenty of charity shops around, even on Lordship Lane. For SCH one, would be interested to see how much of the donations goes to rent and overheads, rather than the actual intended cause.
