goldilocks
Hi James - part of the play equipment at Goose Green has been broken for a number of months now - on the section that is closest to Adys Road. One of the handles to swing from on the wooden climbing frame has been removed (either purposefully or through vandalism) so there is now just one remaining. Would be nice if it could be reinstated so wondered if there were any plans or timeline on this? (as it didn't happen as part of the other renovations which have been great - especially in terms of removing the muddy swamp by the wooden bridge and stepping stones.) worldwiser
goldilocks - don't bother James with it. Email [email protected]Tell them that there's a dangerous structure in the playground that poses a serious threat to children's safety. It'll be fixed in 24hrs. I've done this three times. goldilocks
Thank you - hopefully that will be more successful than when I reported huge piles of horrible dog poo outside East Dulwich station last week and got a response today saying someone would look into it within 48 hours! I've replied saying not to bother, I'm pretty sure its been wiped all over the surrounding pavements by now. Lynne
I've got a bit tired of the towing caravan parked outside no 26 Worlingham Rd. It's been there for months now. I believe this isn't allowed. Parking here is bad enough without large vehiclesI have e-mailed your parking dept. And, on another issue, are they ever going to fix the traffic lights on Dog Kennel Hill? Thanks Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7779-former-east-dulwich-councillor-how-can-i-help/page/203/#findComment-1052661 Share on other sites

I agree that this crossing is pretty treacherous and heaps of primary school kids go across it every day to Heber and Harris Primary (and there will be both more traffic and more children on foot as the Harris Primary increases in size). A lollipop person would make a huge difference. Lynne
HI. I have tried to e-mail your parking dept. about the caravan, but it bounced back.Is there any one else you can suggest? All the forms on the website seem to relate to specific issues, I can't find anywhere to report the caravan Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7779-former-east-dulwich-councillor-how-can-i-help/page/203/#findComment-1054098 Share on other sites

first mate
Obviously very concerned that safety of children and pedestrians is protected at all times, however I do recall assurances that traffic would not increase as a result of the school since parents and children would walk, cycle or take public transport! If traffic has increased or us 'bound to increase' is this because the former assurances were empty and hopeful rather than realistic?Actually, editing this because I think you meant foot traffic, in which csse a lollipop person would make sense. Apologies for any misunderstanding. James Barber
Coach parking. After he notice was placed the coach owner contacted the council and agreed to park somewhere else. If anyone else finds an unwanted coach parking for days at a time on their street please get in touch. ianr
What was the council's legal basis for any action, once it was established that the coach wasn't abandoned? It's taxed and MOT'd, and I've seen no mention of evidence of its being operated for the carriage of goods or passengers Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7779-former-east-dulwich-councillor-how-can-i-help/page/203/#findComment-1054262 Share on other sites

first mate
A certain estate agent parks up to three large cars overnight on a residential street all the time. This is done because employees are not insured to take the cars to their homes and park them. Is this all above board. These cars are solely for business use. Cat in a Hot Tin Bus
First mate, as long as they are insured, taxed and have MOTs then yes it is, annoying as it can be they are perfectly entitled to park on the road Maybe have a word with the business concerned to see if they can park elsewhere. Marjoram
Hello, please see today's thread "Travellers on Peckham Rye". Travellers broke into the Dulwich Hospital site this afternoon and there are now a minimum of eight vans there. Galileo
JamesPlease can you update the community on what is happening with the Dulwich Hospital site. Robert Poste's Child
Hi JamesI wondered if you're able to help the library sort out their loo problem? All three were out of order for what seemed like two weeks while they waited for a specialist to sort them out, then working again yesterday and all three again out of order today. When I ask the staff they don't seem to know much about how long it's going to take. They've been telling people to use the pub but it's creating problems for the elderly, parents with young children etc and not really appropriate for the older, unaccompanied school-age kids who use the reference part of the library to study in. Getting things fixed at the library can be frustratingly slow - with the old wifi it often took weeks - so it would be great if you're able to help shift the blockage (as it were).Thanks. 753
Some time ago you were kind enough to enquire into the missing cylcists' advance stop line at Grove Tavern/Lordship Lane/Dulwich Common. You colleague Ms Pidgeon was told it would be reinstaled in July. It hasn't been. I will write to TFL myself but it would be nice to know what is happening. Despite being a regular cyclist I still find this junction quite frightening without the line. Thank you. JessicaMitic
Hi James, the same coach is now parked up outside my flat on Brockley Way. It has been there a week. I have informed the council. Can it be moved again? I think the guys who own it are doing it up, and trying to find somewhere to park it. Surely they can't park it in a residential area? Thanks Jessica Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/7779-former-east-dulwich-councillor-how-can-i-help/page/203/#findComment-1055982 Share on other sites

Robert Poste's Child
James Barber Wrote:-------------------------------------------------------> Hi Robert Post'es Child,> Will chase and come back to you.Thanks. Looks like it has now been sorted, for this time at least. I think the problem may be that since they recently turned one of the loos into a key-operated disabled one, there is too much pressure on the other two. If it keeps happening, turning them into 3 unisex loos would probably help. Thanks again.
