James the main issue I saw was grit being laid down poorly on pavements which meant they were still unsafe to walk on, I am not blaming the workers though, give them a shovel and a target to grit a certain number of streets and that?s probably the best they can do. But really why weren?t grit spreaders used to properly distribute grit?

James do you know if the missed bin collection will be made up this week? Don't want the council getting any ideas that once every three weeks is a workable option ;)

As you may have seen, the planning officer for the Cherry Tree application is recommending approval. I know on the other thread you indicated you would ask for the decision to be made in a forum that counsellors could attend / input. The decision is due to be made this Wednesday - 7th March. Is this something you were aware of and are you / Rosie able to attend please?

The missed collections from last week for green and blue wheelie bin - respectively rubbish and recycling - will occur:

Wednesday 28 Feb - took place today 5 March

Thursday 1 March - will take place tomorrow 6 March

Friday 2 March - this Wednesday 7 March

Brown wheelie bins and food waste caddies - these resources are being used to help the rubbish and recycling catch up.

Bulky waste collections - back to normal from tomorrow with missed collection appointments being agreed with residents.

All services will return to normal next week staring Monday 12 March.

I'm surprised it is going to committee. Cllr Rosie Shimell and I called in this planning application so at least it will be decided by a planning committee of councillors and those objecting and supporting it will have a chance to put their case. Fingers crossed I can also attend.

Crawthew Grove residents - re surfacing of your road today/tomorrow.

Frogley Road - resurfacing of your road tomorrow and Wednesday.

Hmm, James... it's interesting that the above planning committee meeting is scheduled on the same night as the DCC meeting, as either you and Rosie will have to choose between the two meetings or else split.

Hi James, not a single one of us or my neighbours received a letter. We also wonder why Frogley Rd had a good portion of its pavement redone in nice slabs and we have to make do with a practically off-road, extensively pot-holed and utility company-wrecked surface with no plans to relay it?

Yes, meeting clash is painful. Tomorrow we'll be allocated Neighbourhood Fund monies and the local planning meeting is held anywhere but locally!

I made an objection to this and only received the letter about the planning committee meeting yesterday. I cannot intend in person and had hoped to write my objection in a letter, however apparently they require at least 2 working days notice... which is impossible as I only received the letter yesterday and the committee is tomorrow!

Can we do anything about this?

You should complaint in an mail to [email protected]@southwark.gov.uk and the Planning sub-committeee chair person [email protected] and ask for the decision to be deferred as insufficient notice has been given - probably due to the weather.

Just to make people aware:

Friday 9 March to 14 March and then from 26 to 28 March - Calton Avenue will be closed between Townley and Woodwarde Roads.

Friday 9 March to 28 March - Woodwarde Road at its junction with Calton Avenue will be closed.

Thursday 15 March to 25 March - Calton Avenue will have two-way temporary traffic lights.

Thursday 29 March to Thursday 5 April - Calton Avenue at its junction with Townley Road will be closed.

Earlier this evening at the Dulwich Community Council Cllr Rosie Shimell, Charlie Smith and I compromised on using our revenue funding for the projects listed in the attached.

Charlie didn't want hanging baskets along Lordship Lane.

I didn't understand the Millwall project benefits for East Dulwich.

Allocating ?20,000 of highway renewal spend.

WE agreed my suggestion to renew Lordship Lane around the area in is joined by East Dulwich Grove. The road is in a shocking state and fixing this I'm hopeful will make the junction slightly safer.

Interesting reading James, thankyou. I'm assuming the 20k will also cover the long overdue pedestrian crossing across EDG at the same time? What's been the progress on this? It's been raised time and time again but the council provides no response.

Sadly not.

A separate study of crashes along Lordship Lane is under way which will make recommendations.

This study was originally only going to study lordship Lane crashes up to its junction with Whateley Road. I was able ot use publicly available crash data to persuade the team to extend this to Goose Green and I highlighted this junction of being the number one priority for ward councillors based no crashes data snd residents feedback.

Dangerous link between Green Lane and Dog Kennel Hill

A lot of local people and children use this path, an easy route between Charter School and Bessemer School to Dog Kennel

A fence is being erected of considerable height which will make this right of way feel much more intimidating for all users.

This will make this route a long, narrow, poorly lit passage and considerably more dangerous.

Please can you or the council do something about this.

James, further to the concerns about the fence going up by the football stadium, please could you ask of council officers the exact situation with regard to the road and path leading from Abbotswood Rd round the back of the stadium? Specifically:

1. What are the precise boundaries of Meadow Residential's property?

2. What is the status of the footpath? Is it a public right of way?

3. What is the status of the (presumably private) roadway? What access should be required for the electricity substation and the mobile phone masts, which are now cut off from vehicle access?

I agree. It's especially important as I was the chair of Southwark Cyclists that campaigned and successfully had that cycle/footpath installed 20 years ago.

The lead manager for transport and highways had just replied to say he is investigating who has blocked this Right of Way that I made a formal complaint had been blocked.

Separately I've a Planning Enforcement investigation request as the permanent fence has been installed without planning permission.

Both will take a little time but are legal processes.

I saw lots of young people/children scurrying over Barry Road from near Sylvester Road adn think a zebra or other type of crossing is needed. They were going to events at the church just off Barry, which hsa to be more than a weekly event.

Double yellow lines between Bassano Street and Blackwater Street and on Blackwater Street haven't been finished and despite I have sent a couple of emails to the Road Junction implementation responsible, the works are still not finished. Result: wild parking in the area.

Who else can be contacted to speed up the works that were supposed to end in January?
