Hi Guys,

Ive started a new thread to make sure everyone sees the opening date, the shop is looking great and all of you are welcome to come and take a look. I cant stress just how nervous I am and would love any further suggestions on spreading the word. Slowly I have built up the brands but I am also stocking a number of new independant young designers as Id love to give them exposure and stock unique items. I have already set up a facebook group and page so please look and join. I will be placing pics up and communicating through the group quite a lot you can also mail [email protected] once I open I will be having a launch event so I will keep you posted. There will also be other events like styling evenings and swapshops as I want to have a bit of a different vibe. There will also be an opening offer to obtain a Dulwich discount card, please email or join the groups, I will also offer student discount. I look forward to seeing you and any suggestions are welcome.

Nick

I love the name.

Though I think if you're really going to live up to it you may need to stock both pretty pink sparkly wings and outrageously baroque purple silk corsets with matching garters. Put my name down for half a dozen ;-)

Hi Everyone, Would just like to let everyone know Fairies and Floozies is now open and I would love everyone to pass by and let me know what you think. The shop is looking great and the reaction has been fantastic so far, I have an opening promo on at the mo so please spread the word and pop in to make the most of it.

How did you "remember" that it was a women's clothes shop, RosieH?

The first thread didn't mention the words 'women' or 'clothes' once!!!

You must have remembered it from a conversation in the pub or when you were getting your nails done ;-)

I was trying to be helpful and nudge Nico1 into revealing the vital piece of information missing from the original post...

Of course, now I've found out it's a women's clothes shop, I've no interest whatsoever :))

Is probably from this thread Nico's original thread that RosieH knew it was a woman's clothes shop - rather than the slightly underhand methods you suggested Gimmie - even in Nico's opening post on this thread he mentions a previous thread he'd started.

"even in Nico's opening post on this thread he mentions a previous thread he'd started"

Where? I've re-read it twice and no mention of a previous thread springs out...

"Ive started a new thread" could imply this if you saw a previous thread but given that the option for starting a thread on the menu bar is called "Start New Thread in this section", every thread is a new one, whether there was a previous one or not.

So I must be missing something - which is exactly what your mail implies - or else, it just isn't clear at all.

Clarity, my dear Buggie, clarity! It's all I seek!

Gimme a break.............Sheeeeeeeeeez

W**F

Yeah, probably...

Just doing the usual EDF thing of defending myself over several posts against people who make pointless accusations or chippy comments for no good reason at all. Surely this is a tradition on EDF! ;-)

Nonetheless, it's keeping this thread near the top of the page which can only be good for publicity.

That's the spirit Admin...and who ever said Admin had no heart? ;-)

Surely you don't mean me? Accusations???? Accusations of not remembering?

    • Most churches rent out halls for children's' parties but rarely adult parties, Christ Church only does afternoon parties,   The East Dulwich Community centre hires out halls to 9 pm only and all music needs to be on a sound restrictor as is in a residential area. St Johns with St Clements have a small hall but not sure if they allow adult parties. Nunhead Green has a newish community centre with a couple of different size halls. Most places seem to charge around £40 ph  with a deposit of £100/200 (returned if no damage or excess cleaning needed.
    • Hello, Recently there have been various comments made on the forum which have resulted in heated discussions being had. I for one, hold up my hand and wanted to personally thank whoever is keeping the forum going.. remember when it was likely to close. We are all adults and should known when it is right to continue or just ignore or if really feel it necessary comment via pm. I have had a long relationship with the forum and have bought, sold, offered advice and in deed made friends on the forum over the years. It is a public forum after all and everyone is entitled to express their opinion and is also free. I am not as tech minded as most but with the season of good will approaching and-knowing in this economic climate how many people are  struggling, I  thought it would be a lovely idea, to perhaps set up a just giving page to raise funds for a local charity who might appreciate a contribution towards their Christmas festivities… On a practical side, might just be to complicated to administer as I am sure all have charities that we support so my other thought was not me, as I am useless but to set up a just giving page and whatever monies are raised, perhaps contribute to the festivities that use to be run by local shops or whatever.. Maybe even use a local church hall and just make it special for perhaps folk that find it difficult to access events or no access for say wheel chair users.. guess really, one is looking for guidance from the church and of course volunteers. Shoot me down if you must or feel the need but this is my view and no, sadly I won’t be around in the months before Christmas but can help remotely.
