London's a big place and many of you don't know much of it so I thought it would be worth naming some places that are definitely NOT worth a visit. To avoid accusations of bias I have chosen from all 4 points of the compass.

Enfield

Barkingside

Woolwich

Feltham

Please feel free to add...or disagree if you're mad.

yup, I'm bored.

Yes, had some great beers in Plaistow, but it is undeniably a characterless not worth visiting.

Cutting to the chase would east dulwich be worth anyone going out of their way for if they haven't got friends down their for food and drink? plenty of places have cheese and nicknacks surely.

Is their a USP? an unusually high concentration of cookwank perchance?

TOTTENHAM - First time I visited Tottenham was Football and our bus broke down - and when all the Spurs football supportes (&hooligans) had long departed home the Police rounded all 50 of us up from the bus and into a nearby Members only Pub for our own safety from the locals, and then the Police proceeded to circle the block for the next hour in their dog van...

    • DKH was two form entry, it is now one form entry to cope with the fact it was far more under subscribed than other schools in the area. They had actually combined year groups into single classes, 3/4 and 5/6.  When a school changes name, it’s usually because of a bad reputation perhaps the results.  The new name is dry with no history unlike its current name. It’s a very sketchy decision. It’s an expensive vanity project for someone.  What  will happen if the name change does not increase applications to the school?
    • @first mate I assume Alice made a mistake, as she removed her reaction.  I was wondering about park wardens. As I said, there was one there last night, who was incredibly helpful and proactive. As well as bringing me to the police, he caught up with a young guy on a bike who'd earlier been the victim of an attempted theft by these kids and linked him up with the police too. But I do wonder, as I've only very occasionally seen him riding around, how many they have and what hours they patrol. I've no doubt they'd be a strong deterrent if they had a better presence. They were nowhere to be seen the first time around.  Update: I've just found this: https://services.southwark.gov.uk/community-safety/community-wardens The guy in the photo at the bottom of the page was the lovely warden of last night and I've just now remembered him telling me he's based in Burgess Park. Anyway, there needs to be more of them, as I rarely see one in Peckham.
    • Some of us oldies would associate Grove with the old Grove Vale School (which I went to in the 1950s)
