No law against that of course, but a bit unusual, in fact I've never come across it before. Wasn't meant to be an insult. Maybe I'm just a bit straight laced. Ladymuck
I posted too and that was deleted. I don't understand why...this is the Lounge. My post referred to DJKQ flirting with two dogs (Woof and Artful)...again tongue in cheek. Those 3 posters' posts have been deleted too. I thought it was OK to go off topic in the lounge.:( Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8886-lesbians-in-east-dulwich/page/2/#findComment-358594 Share on other sites
SeanMacGabhann
Being in the Lounge doesn?t mean you HAVE to go off topicSeveral complaints were received (not necessarily to do with ALL of the posts removed) so Admin tidied the thread up a bit, included the off-topic-but-not-offensive onesYou?ll live Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/8886-lesbians-in-east-dulwich/page/2/#findComment-358606 Share on other sites

*Bob*
Sorry, girls.. you'll have to forgive Mick. His personal experience of lesbians is limited to Carry-On films, a brief conversation with Kelvin MacKenzie and a copy of Razzle from 1986. Narnia
In which case should this thread not be in the ED specific section and not the Lounge? Most threads go 'off topic' fairly quickly in here which is half the point of being in the Lounge is it not? DJKillaQueen
I agree with you Narnia and others...this is the lounge. The thread should be elsewhere, maybe even in the what's on section if is to be kept purely on topic. Or maybe someone should start a thread 'lesbianism in East Dulwich' where woof, artful, and others can post without fear of being deleted. Should I start complaining to admin everytime any of the guys post on my ladies football thread? (btw mac...look at what women get charged for a cut in a haridressers, compared to a barbers....you'll see the answer, and if I had short hair I'd do the same)Back to on topic though...Strawbs when is the next Rye in the Rovers game as there has been nothing on the FB page for a month? I also used to go to a particular hairdressers because they charged the same price for both men and women. I left them when they started charging more for the women. edcam
The Rye Hotel is v. gay friendly (male and female.) My gayboy self and my girl loving chums are often there. The title of this thread would be great name for a band. binary_star
I would also like to know if there is anywhere local to find gay friends. I've lived in East Dulwich for nearly a year now and I haven't found any gay bars/pubs here. I don't think the drinks at the Rye are organised by the pub itself, afaik it's by members of another forum who are otherwise not connected to the Rye. My partner and I did try it on a couple of occasions but it was a bit hit and miss - at the first one there were easily 60 people which was a bit overwhelming and the second time only two others turned up besides myself, my partner and another couple we know, so that was a bit weird. As the OPs sister will know Hackney has more than it's fair share, what's the deal!? DJKillaQueen
There aren't really any bars in ED. The nearest proper gay bar I would say is Southern Pride on Norwood High Street. If you don;t already know it, it has a pub at the front (where they do cabaret as well) and a club at the back with another bar and a good sized beer garden too. Clapham High Street has some bars too - more male than female though. There used to be someone on here organising a pink drinks night every once in a while too but there hasn't been one of those for a while. How disappointing. Well if JD Wetherspoon doesn't take off maybe there will be a gap in the market for that venue! C'mon, amongst all those buggies on LL, I've seen a few crew cuts (please don't delete, *I am gay* after all and am too sozzled to work out my tongue from my cheek!) So why are there no gay places to go then? DJKillaQueen
I like your post....but won't add to it as I'm in enough trouble as it is apparently lol!I've lived in this area for twenty years and there's never been anything around here as far as I'm aware (apart from the monthly drinks at the Rye Hotel). We could organise something amongst ourselves though. Maybe restart the forum Pink Drinks. Can't remember who used to organise that (one of the guys I think), but it would just take picking a day, venue, and putting it in the 'what's on' section. It would be good to have something locally that's both les/gay in addition to the Rye Hotel thing once a month maybe. Jah Lush
Ahem! I think it was Strawbs who used to organise the pink drinks at the Rye Hotel. I could be wrong though. HAL9000
IIRC the forum Pink Drinks were organised by badger. Strawbs organises the monthly lesbian drinks at the Rye.
