How do you iron a tie ?

Thin to thick end ?

Or

Thick to thin end ?

Steamed or dry heat ?

See, mine dipped into the rice whilst cooking, so a quick hand job on it & it's back to it's old self ( bar a stiff Ironing)

Any ideas gratefully received

Couldn't you purchase a super swishy tie from your club to impress the judge? He may even be hoping to become a member himself. Although clearly this will only work if you can ensure he will not be blackballed at The Garrick, Spearmint Rhino doesn't have the same kudos!

Oh no *Bobby*

No, I only wear the tie & nothing else, so I like "it" to be neat & tidy

Specially as it is the focus of most people's attention

I do notice peoples comments, here's a few from people queued at the theatre in Shaftesbury Avenue on Saturday night.

"Just look at the tie Honey....Keep looking at the Tie"

Also,

An American couple admiring the Tie

"My godddd ...the man's only wearing a tie"

"Really,.... I hadn't got that far...Yet " said his wife slowly

Which was nice, made me swell right up with pride.

No! ...with due respect...you are wrong! HAL9000 wrong...how can it be?...ha ha ha ha...never thought I'd see that in my lifetime...ha ha ha...better get your wiring checked liebe Roboter...ha ha ha ha ha

Seriously, I first spot-clean all hubby's silk ties with a stain remover, then wash them in the washing machine (sensitive programme - for silks), drip dry them, manually put them back into shape, and finally iron them covered over with a clean damp tea-towel. Good as new every time!

You've made my day though! But then even robots must have an off moment...maybe you just need a bit of a vacuum...eh?

*on floor in absolute stitches*

Mind you, you did use the catch-all..."virtually"....damn!

Hahaha. Yes I did, didn't I!

No chance! The silk will have lost its shine and the tie's beautifully rolled edges will have been ironed flat. It might look OK to you but it wouldn't fool an expert - sorry.

John did a fantastic job of of fitting and worked around and solved many of the issues we had with Ikea who we purchased from. John gave lots of helpful advice and support. We would definitely use them again for any kitchen work. I have added before and after photos.
