YES SIMON AND LEE ARE FANTASTIC!

We had a major drilled hole in pipe problem yesterday and Simon came right away to give us hot water!

I am very pregnant and they were so aware of the necessity!

Also gave us some great advice! And Lee is coming back on Monday to make it perfect!

Just amazing guys!

Was let down by a plumber that I use on my projects.

So I fort I would try lee garvey plumbing and heading due to a lot of recommendations on the EDF.

Lee came round at short notice and done a boiler refurb and a thew other small jobs .

I'm happy to say lee garvey plumbing and heating didn't only earn themselves a good recommendation but also earned me one.

Will definitely be using agen great value for money and very good at wot they do

Ps I would also like to add Simone Lee's employee

Outstanding also

Lee Garvey came round at very short notice (happened to be in the area), worked out why a pipe in the loft was leaking, went off and got the materials, and fixed the whole thing within the hour. They're going to come back and add a cowl on to the pipe outside when the weather's a bit better (too slippery on the roof at the moment with all the rain). Thank you, EDF, for the recommendation - and a big thank you to Lee Garvey, too.

Hi all

Another recommendation for Lee Garvey. I was more than happy with the service we received! Very helpful, quick, responsive and very reasonable rates. Lee even followed up with me when the item needed to carry out the repair did not arrive as quickly as promised when I had ordered it and then popped in to do the repair at short notice between Christmas and New Year. Top marks from me and would definitely use again.

I also want to recommend Lee. We are currently living in Chile and renting out our house in East Dulwich. My tenants emailed me to say the boiler had packed in. I went to the Forum to see who you all recommend and Lee's name came up. He went round very quickly, sorted it out, just charged the call out rate. I was dreading a huge bill .. So I am very happy. Thank you Lee.

Another strong recommendation for Lee Garvey.

Lee replied within an hour to my afternoon text requesting help and offered to come round the next morning. He then identified the problem, sourced and obtained the required replacement part and came and fitted it on Saturday morning.

He was efficient, tidy, very reasonably priced and easy to communicate with via text and phone. I will definitely be using him in the future.

I called Lee yesteday told him that I had a leak which has caused issues for my neighbours down stairs. We arranged for him to come first thing in the morning.

Within thirty minutes he fixed the leak that another plumber did not and saved me a hefty bill.

Lee said that I had him for another thirty minutes and so he bled my radiators, fixed my bath, showed me how to top my boiler up and screwed the handle back onto my gate.

I have now booked Lee to reseal my bath and put a new sink into my kitchen.

He's thorough, a good rate and I would highly reccomend.

Lee has just replaced our boiler and we are very happy with the results. He and Simon were punctual, efficient and have done a great job for a very good price. Really appreciate that he takes the time to properly talk through all the options to find the best solution for your needs and we will be having him back to change radiators and put in a new bathroom further down the line.

Another recommendation for Lee. After being left in the lurch by a succession of other plumbers, Lee responded quickly to my initial message, got in touch with my tenant and arranged a time to visit. Not only did Lee remedy the initial problem, he was also good enough to rework under sink pipes and fit a new washing machine that John Lewis had failed to install the day before (that wasn't really his problem). All this on a bank holiday and at a good rate. He'll be my first call if need a plumber in future.

Recommendation for Lee - he's helped with numerous plumbing issues we've had over the last year, always answers my SOS texts and calls, and manages to visit and fix very quickly. Offers good rates and a very reliable service, so grateful to have finally found a good plumber! His number is 07881 277385.

messageRecommendation: Lee Garvey, Plumber new

Called Lee to handle a leak in our loft. He came in, explained the options to us and fixed the problem in the shower and thoroughly checked his fix. This involved breaking some tiles (which he had warned us about before he arrived) and he recommended a builder to fix that.

Overall, very happy and will use him again.

Had Lee round to look at a leak from our attic shower, he quickly found the issue and booked in for the repairs, also had him tighten a tap in the kitchen that has been loose for ages. Both issues resolved effeciently and he's suggested longer term fix for attic shower that has not been installed properly. Have had him quote for some other work to the house and would use again.

I am very impressed with Lee Garvey (07881277385), a qualified gas engineer & plumber. He is friendly, helpful & straight to the point. Also, not only are his rates reasonable but he refused to charge me for the full hour because it was a straightforward job. I will definitely be using him again.

    • Hey Sue, I was wrong - I don't think it would just be for foreign tourists. So yeah I assume that, if someone lives in Lewisham and wants to say the night in southwark, they'd pay a levy.  The hotels wouldn't need to vet anyone's address or passports - the levy is automatically added on top of the bill by every hotel / BnB / hostel and passed on to Southwark. So basically, you're paying an extra two quid a night, or whatever, to stay in this borough.  It's a great way to drive footfall... to the other London boroughs.  https://www.ukpropertyaccountants.co.uk/uk-tourist-tax-exploring-the-rise-of-visitor-levies-and-foreign-property-charges/
    • Pretty much, Sue, yeah. It's the perennial, knotty problem of imposing a tax and balancing that with the cost of collecting it.  The famous one was the dog licence - I think it was 37 1/2 pence when it was abolished, but the revenue didn't' come close to covering the administration costs. As much I'd love to have a Stasi patrolling the South Bank, looking for mullet haircuts, unshaven armpits, overly expressive hand movements and red Kicker shoes, I'm afraid your modern Continental is almost indistinguishable from your modern Londoner. That's Schengen for you. So you couldn't justify it from an ROI point of view, really. This scheme seems a pretty good idea, overall. It's not perfect, but it's cheap to implement and takes some tax burden off Southwark residents.   'The Man' has got wise to this. It's got bad juju now. If you're looking to rinse medium to large amounts of small denomination notes, there are far better ways. Please drop me a direct message if you'd like to discuss this matter further.   Kind Regards  Dave
    • "What's worse is that the perceived 20 billion black hole has increased to 30 billion in a year. Is there a risk that after 5 years it could be as high as 70 billion ???" Why is it perceived, Reeves is responsible for doubling the "black hole" to £20b through the public sector pay increases. You can't live beyond your means and when you try you go bankrupt pdq. In 4 yrs time if this Govt survives that long and the country doesn't go bust before then, in 2029 I dread to think the state the country will be in.  At least Sunak and co had inflation back to 2% with unemployment being stable and not rising.
    • He seemed to me to be fully immersed in the Jeremy Corbyn ethos of the Labour Party. I dint think that (and self describing as a Marxist) would have helped much when Labour was changed under Starmer. There was a purge of people as far left as him that he was lucky to survive once in my opinion.   Stuff like this heavy endorsement of Momentum and Corbyn. It doesn't wash with a party that is in actual government.   https://labourlist.org/2020/04/forward-momentum-weve-launched-to-change-it-from-the-bottom-up/
