  1. And as for judomum's police state. Are you having a bubble?
  2. Immaterial, I'm interested to hear who you feel is right wing in his thread, and why?
  3. Marmora Man, you forgot number 15. 15. A free pint for everyone after work on Friday :)-D Utopia indeed, but surely anyone saying all this stuff is living a very different reality, and should probably be on meds.
  4. Not saying either of them have "won", but definitely don't see how gallinello has won, when they have just quoted Huguenot, and said "where have I done that?". Fair enough to ask for examples, but hardly a winning argument. Sorry, I am stirring a bit because I like a good debate.
  5. David, I apologise for being a bit sarcy, and perhaps you're right regarding semantics. I have no wish to row with you whatsoever, but sometimes the tone of your posts just makes me feel like you're talking down at me, and I feel patronised, and probably react as such. Most likely things just getting lost in translation, as they so often do in text, especially if we don't put a ;-) at the end of everything we bloody well say.
  6. Good plan, I'll crack a couple open. This "working" from home lark is great!
  7. Firstly, I didn't suggest that, of course social demographic can, and will impact on a person's life, believe me, I work for social services, and I have seen plenty of it. I just don't buy in to "an ever-more-diverse society" equating to a "class" system. But as I'm "naive" in your opinion, I shall bow to your worldly experience.
  8. What, and they are "working class"? I don't know if you saw it LegalEagle, but John Prescott did a thing about class on telly last year, and from what I read on here, I'd say that your view of it is much the same as his. I am a fan of Prescott (and Christ he has taken some shite from some far sleezier people than himself), but his steadfast, and outdated concept of class made me want to smash my skull against a brick wall!
  9. I like that line, feel exactly the same. "Class" is as abstract a concept these days, as "love".
  10. Simplistic way of looking at it. And typical Northern view that everyone down south was having a wail of a time.

    Great Gigs

Actually GG, can wu tell me if I've heard right, hat Skunk Anansie are playing Brixton later this year? Would like to see that!

    Great Gigs

    Boo! ;-)
  14. And he wins it! Fair play to both of them.
  15. Of course certain places were destroyed by mine closures and such like, but I think they would have happened one way or another, she was just the one in charge at the time. My point is simply that she, more than most, seems to be blamed so much as an individual for everything, like she single handedly set out to destroy the working classes. God, I hope noone reads this and thinks I'm a tory.
  16. I'm finding it funny Tone, keep it up.
  17. Voting for Blair is worse than having voted Thatch IMO. Whether you think she was great or terrible, at least she wasn't a vain, self serving little cnut! For the record, I'm not a fan (that said, I am too young to really have cause to hate her), but I just can't wish anyone dead. Maybe someone "evil", but I don't think you can call her evil, she just did lots of unpopular things.
  18. I always find it quite hard to get my head around people saying they will celebrate someone's death, despite their politics.

*bob* said it better than me.

    loose women

I saw this a couple of weeks ago. Now I know that maybe I am not supposed to get it as such, but what a bloody vile group of people!
  21. Come on, bit harsh calling Barry a mercenary isn't it? How long has he been at Villa?
  22. Yep, quite common. My friend walked in to the O2 the day Foo Fighters were playing, for an unrelated reason, and ended up getting a ticket for that nights "sold out" gig, and didn't have to pay a stupid booking fee.

    Michael Jackson

I guess he did, but no more so than Jolie, and less so than Madge surely!
  24. What does it win? I'm guessing the "most wrong, nasty sauce in the world" prize?
