One Born Every Minute Christmas special
Keef replied to Smiler's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Just looked it up, and it means "Dear Husband". Yuk yuk yuk, you should all stop using it immediately! Anyway, sorry, back to one born every minute. -
Well he was an alcoholic drug abuser in the 90s, not now (I don't think), and yes, he probably gambled away a few quid, but if he'd been on anything like the money that lesser players (like Johnson) are on today, he probably wouldn't need the cash. I've always liked Johnson, but he has been shite this season, and he needs to learn to take a bit of critisism, otherwise get out of the limelight.

Waitrose or M&S TYPE supermarket - do we want one on LL?
Keef replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Lets be straight here, nobody actually needs a Waitrose do they. -

Out of interest, what does "DH" stand for? I know it's your other half / Husband, but I don't know what the D stands for. Shouldn't it be BH (Better Half) ;-) -

One Born Every Minute Christmas special
Keef replied to Smiler's topic in The Family Room Discussion
Mrs Keef made the point that the hospital is very old school (she used the term "out of the dark ages). All the births are women lying flat on their backs. I guess other births may be hard to show, without showing too much, but it's not really a realistic account of things. -
One Born Every Minute Christmas special
Keef replied to Smiler's topic in The Family Room Discussion
I thought the xmas one was shite to be honest. I also wondered if I was less in to it because the birth of our daughter wasn't so fresh in our minds. Will have a look at this series though, as the first one had some absolute comedy gold in it. -
Babel's was just funny, but these players should just stay off twitter IMO. That is not funny, it's a disgrace.

Why was Dickensman's former self banned? I miss all the good stuff whilst wading through the dross.

Just seen this, and think it's a good appointment for Liverpool.

I'd not heard that Diouf may be heading to West Ham. I suppose he could do a job, as he does have talent, and is a fighter on the pitch. Unfortunately, he seems to forget that being a fighter doesn't mean you can actually punch people. He's scum, but if he can do a job for the hammers, I say good luck to them, just as long as they off load him once something better comes along. Besides, I'm sure he'll end up wherever Big Sam gets his next job...
-
You do realise you're agreeing with Big Sam don't you? ;-) To be fair, most teams have had players who will take a tumble a bit too easily. Man U have just had a couple of particularly annoying ones, like Ronaldo. I think it is especially annoying when a player of undoubted ability makes a habit of cheating, because that is all people think of. Ronaldo is a great player, but I for one will always remember him for the dishonest side of his game. And before anyone says anything, yes, I know that Liverpool players have been as guilty as anyone of taking a dive on occasion, and I hate to see it. As an aside, did anyone see Warnock's comments about Diouf? I'm no Warnock fan, but I am totally in agreement with him on this. Diouf is just a nasty little piece of work. If he'd not been a footballer, he'd probably have been stabbed to death by now for spitting at someone harder than him.

Waitrose or M&S TYPE supermarket - do we want one on LL?
Keef replied to James Barber's topic in General ED Issues / Gossip
Why do people even like M&S so much? Fine, they're great for grabbing a sandwich and a fruit salad for lunch, but they dont sell any ingredients for preparing a meal, just ready meals, which frankly puts it below iceland in terms of usefulness. -
What are Southwark Councils Priorities (in East Dulwich)

My sister was born in 74, and there are photos taken of my aunt holding her in my parents garden, and they had an outside loo. Fortunately, an extension bathroom and kitchen had been built by the time I came along 4 years later. -

Exactly bloody right! I am sure the head of Iceland is reading this and thinking "gosh, a handfull of jumped up people on the East Dulwich Forum feel that their area deserves better than us. I think we'd best close down and step aside for a better class of shop, even though we're doing perfectly good business". I think these people should move to Croydon, there is a big M&S, and a Waitrose, you'd all be very happy. -
Good sleeper becomes night time nightmare
Keef replied to Polly D's topic in The Family Room Discussion
My daughter has had a bad run of it with illness since early November, and up until a couple of days ago, had become totally clingy, and wanted to be held all the time. Then she suddenly seemed to come through it, and is back to her happier self. So hopefully he's just feeling grotty and will be over it soon... -
I think Liverpool can walk away with heads held high. Yes the keeper had to make some good saves, but we made a few chances with 10 men, and were only beated by a feckin soft penalty!

Read these yeasterday, and thought they were both fair and honest views on the Liverpool / Woy thing. Phil McNulty Blog Lawro's column Think they both highlight where Woy failed, but also where he was let down. Seem fair, and pretty much sum up my feelings on it. Anyway, all over nw, and lets hope Kenny lives up to the status that he is given at Liverpool. I just hope this isn't similar t "King Kev's" return to Newcastle...

Just to add, that just because he may not be physically dependant, the mental dependency can be just as, if not more, difficult to overcome. -

Initially, it's not about the number of units he's drinking, it's the effects. I know a thing or two about booze, and the issues it can cause. The fact he's wetting himself, and thinks that is normal suggests that either he has a problem, or he hangs around with very weak bladdered people. I would suggest that it's the nightly drinking at home that is the biggest issue, even if it doesn't seem most extreme, so perhaps try to suggest he has a couple of nights off each week. I hope he doesn't see this thread though, it amazes me how much people share on here sometimes. Best of luck with it. -
It wasn't meant to be sarcasm. I hope this works out, but I think it could be a total disaster, with Kenny damaging his great Liverpool record (of 30 years ago). I also think it's sad that the fans are now going to be 100% behind the team. Shouldn't they have been doing that anyway? Anyway, the fans have got what they want, so here's hoping it all works out, but I think Emerson is spot on about the players. For me, the whole thing has left rather a sour taste to be honest.

So don't buy one. It's honestly the only expensive thing we decided to get, and for us, it's been, and will continue to be, very useful and lots of fun. But that's us.

During the snow, a neighbour who I'd never spoken to, offered me use of his shovel, when he saw me struggling to clear the front of the house. I then did the 2 houses next door, both having older people living in them. Unfortunately, the woman one side took this as permission to start knocking on my door asking me to do things. You give an inch...
