Plough, Mag and Foresters (not The Bishop) used to be pretty reliable, but all very proper these days. I'd still recommend avoiding The Bishop though, as it's generally crap!

I never went once this season which is bad form, I will make an effort next year, any excuse to wear my DH strip (the away shirt, I couldn't handle wearing the amount of pink required by the home strip).

I'm rather enjoying the novel I'm reading at the moment, so I purposely took the longest possible route to work today, so I could have a good read. Got in at half 10.

Basement bar, you can just see it rivalling kebab & wine for the classy late night drinkers! I went to kebab & wine for the first time in ages a couple of weeks ago. Made me laugh so much, was on the way to the loo, and this big fella I'd seen around but never said a word to in my life, just handed me a wrap* of coke and said he was off home, and didn't want the wife finding it, so I should take it and enjoy myself. Just couldn't believe how open it all was, I'm sure a couple of years ago people at least pretended to be discreet! :)) * when I say wrap, very small lines worth is probably a better desciption

My favourite 2 pubs in the area are The CPT, and The Plough. Plough has a great selection of beers, and good staff, plus a nice big paved garden. The CPT is my regular haunt. It's 2 pubs in one, has an old "lounge bar" complete with fire which is cosy in the winter, and a "public bar" (old name) which is a more modern side and has the big screens. To me the staff make the pub, and the CPT staff are great. However, they're all moving on, so no idea what the place will be like in the future...

Yeah good film, but just thinking what I'd enjoy watching out in the open with a cold beer. Anyway, not new by any means, but finally watched "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" last night, having borrowed it from Fear N' Boozin about 3 years ago! Thought it was absolutely great, and if you've never seen it, I'd recommend a viewing! Funny thing is, I'd never really read what it was about, and thought it would be a bit of a depressing thing about Kate Winslett's decent in to alcoholic madness... Was very pleased to have been completely and utterly wrong!

I'm so tired I'm going to collapse on to the sofa this evening. The wife will probably have to pull me off to get me to bed!

Forever Young - Alphaville Actually been in my head on and off for the last week or so... Only just found out that Alphaville were actually a German outfit. Have also downloaded the rather nice cover of this song by Australian band "Youth Group".

I believe there are some living on Whateley Road more or less opposite the old chip shop.
