    happy new year

Seriously Sean, don't be a fool... Unless the black you always wear is very very slimming ;-) Aaaanyway, Happy New Year everyone! I'll get back to you RE the resolutions...
  2. You do get the odd tragic better who will lose the house keeping money in one afternoon, and walk out tail between legs. However, most of your regular betters know exactly what they are going to allow themselves to spend on betting, and if they happen to win, that's a great bonus. It's the same as allowing yourself ?20 for the pub. Only difference being that unless you get sick, you have absolutely no chanve of getting anything back from the drink! ;-)

I was so proud when I guessed early on that the killer in "Saw" would be the "dead" bloke on the floor >:D The important thing is the Dad's face is not photographed.[/i] I like the idea of heavy rain just making the photograph unclear enough to cast enough doubt. > How can the son then stand in front of the press and PROVE and/or successfully persuade them that it was HIM the Son in the photo. Naturally the actors will be same build height and hair colour. Sean's idea is very good. I can't really think of anything that would prove beyond a shadow of doubt that it was the son.
  4. Bless his cottons, I love a bit of Buddy. My Dad's mate Ron (now the owner of The Hob) was in the original cast of the Buddy musical so my sister and I were taken a couple of times and got in to all the old tunes from there on.

    Mediumship

With regards to psychic powers / ghosts, back at uni, my then girlfriend was convinced she'd seen a ghost in her room in halls on more than one occasion. I, funnily enough, was always sleeping at these times, and never saw anything at all. What I would say is that a) she wasn't the only girl in that hall to claim this, and her room along with 2 others were excorsised by the priest. b) she wasn't the type to just make things up, well not this sort of thing anyway, and she did seem genuinely scared when she woke me up just in time to see nothing. There was this weird looking spooky tree outside her window, and personally I think it was just casting unusual shadows in to the room :-S
  7. Up towards Dawsons Heights
  8. Hmmm, if it was raining, the photo could be distorted... Or they could have a brolly obscuring the face... This is rather fun. I'm usually very good at guessing plots, but don't think I'd be much good at actually writing them.
  9. They could still have the same watch. Anyway, I got the impression by this stage they had settled their differences. (this was in response to Charlie)
  10. And second is your lowest, maybe you'll be like ships that pass in the night on your way down... ;-)
  11. Could the son not just have borrowed dad's coat, or they have matching watches that mum bought them for crimbo? :-S

  13. Whoa, easy tiger. Chav never said she was going to ignore everyone, and she wouldn't be the first person in London to have chickens. I can't promise this link will work because my work computer is playing up, but I think this will take you to a thing about a channel 4 programme about forxes, where some chicken keepers had real real problems. If you do decide to keep chickens, please don't do what these c**ts did and hire some wannabe soldier to come round and shoot the foxes using his night vision scope! Link here

  15. I agree that NOW would be a great time to play them, but this is not til Feb 10th. Funnily enough, that's the day of the African Nations Final, so I will be hoping Ivory Coast get there now! (or Republic of C?te d'Ivoire as I believe it is officially known ;-)).
  16. Er I did know that, I was making a funny... Which obviously wasn't very funny :-S

  18. Just had a look at Liverpool's coming fixtures and am very annoyed. We have a run of relatively "easy" games, and then they give us a Sunday match against Chelsea 2 bloody days before we have to face Inter!!! :X
  19. I'm annoyed at being in today, as I booked the whole 2 weeks off back in September so I could finally spend some time with my new missus, only for them to nick a day off me last week because the manager was too spineless to stand up to a bully who basically told him he was having this week off. :X Not doing anything much though, and plan to leave on "a visit" at 3 latest!!!
  20. Was wondering when you'd show up! ;-)
  21. Keep getting weighed down, it's a bad idea, good intentions or not. I'd agree with PeckhamRose that you'd be much better off growing veggies. It's more fun, it's less noise for the neighbours, and they don't absolutely stink when you're clearing them out! When I've been helping on farms, I always thought cleaning out the chicken sh!t was a much more disgusting job than the cow equivalent!
  22. Please stop creaming over this programme, it's making me want to hate it just for the sake of a row, and I really really want to find a new tv thing to get in to now the sopranos have gone away :(
  23. They also said that some one from the al Qaeda in Afghanistan had claimed responsibility as she was "an American tool". How acurate that is they don't know yet. The thing is, surely it had to have been extreamists, as who else would be happy to blow themselves up after doing the job?
  24. Forgot to mention through all this friendly banter that I thought Shevchenko deserved a bit of a shout for that second goal he got. He looked like the player they thought they were buying, and have not seen enough of.
  25. Pool were not great against Derby, although Torres' goal was class. We did put a few past Pompey the other day though ;-) Being fair to Arse, Pompey have held Liverpool, Man U and Arsenal at home now. I think you'll see above that I do admit that Rafa complains, but don't ever say Wenger doesn't. Oh, and he has spent big in the past, and if the funds were always made available to him, I think he would regularly. Normally I don't wish other teams any ill, but you Atila make me want Arsenal to lose, simple as that. I think you seem a good fella, and I'm pretty certain you're being a wind up merchant on here, but to be honest it's worked on me. Still, Arsenal are ahead of my team, so I have to take it. Never thought I'd be wishing for a smug Man U fan to come on here and give you some back though :-S RE The Mag, It is a bit souless in there, but I do like the screens, you can see one from pretty much wherever you are in the bar.
