  1. In the past, Blackheath has been joint funded by Lewisham & Greenwich, which is probably why it has been good. Wonder if they've both dropped to half, or if one has pulled out.
  2. I'm quite disturbed by the fact I totally agree with everything Sean, and earlier, D_C, have said on this thread.
  3. Inbetweeners is one of my favourite comedies ever!
  4. But you seem to want to fight a cause in every single "debate". It's not only a debate to those involved.
  5. Having not been in a single meeting, I have no idea.

Nothing actually planned as yet, we were thinking of a xmas gig, but have probably missed the boat, plus everyone has work parties, so it can be touch and go. I was chatting to our drummer the other day, and we were talking about Feb, once the January blues are out the way. I'll keep you posted.
  7. What Sean said, in his last 5 or 6 posts.

    Keefs Band

Cheers Mick. Yeah, Louise has alway had the powerful voice, but has grown really well in to the role of fronting the band.
  9. Basically agree with what you're saying Mick, it may not be fair. However, if people have entered in to a contract, and then it is torn up, they have a right to be p!ssed about it.
  10. Personally, I can see both sides of this argument, but what shocks me here is the apparent ill feeling towards public sector workers! Just for the record, most public sector workers probably didn't make their career choices because they thought it would be nice and easy, and they'd get a nice pension payed for by those mugs in the private sector.
  11. Well exactly. It's a bit hard to justify making someone unemplyed, when you're literally burning thousands of pounds in a few minutes. Sad but true.
  12. Ha ha Max Wellhouse, good one. If this chap should come calling again, could you send him my way, as we really do need a window cleaner. Anyone who pays in advance is a muppet.
  13. Yeah, great example of cold, hard reasoning there, and not a sniff of fear tactics.

    X Factor

I do agree with Loz, the results show is very annoying, wouldn't be so bad if it was half hour, but they really do flog it.
  15. I disagree, I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as Blackheath usually is. Anyway, all in the past now. I do hope the fireworks will return to Brockwell Park in the not too distant future. More to the point, I wish they'd return to Peckham Rye, along with the big bon fires they had when I was a kid.
  16. Crystal Palace, but it's a fiver or so to get in. We're going for it though, as the only other one I can think of is Blackheath, and it's a pain getting home after.
  17. Cuts happened. Went to Brockwell for the first time last year, and thought it was pony. Really badly organised, and dangerous bottle necks.

    Keefs Band

if anyone is interested, we have put a few live recordings (thanks to jeremy) of some classic tunes on our myspace page. baregroove myspace
  19. crystal palace costs a fiver, but we're going there as it's close. blackheath is always good, but a bit of a pain in the ar$e to get back from.
  20. I'm pretty sure the DKH one is a bon fire, but no fireworks..
  21. Looks as if HAL has done it for you, but if in future, you want to link to another page... 1. Copy the http address from the address bar of the page you want to link to. 2. click on the little globe with a paper clip icon above the open text field on here 3. Paste the http address in to the little window that pops up, click OK 4. Type the title of the link, e.g. "Facebook Page" in to the pop up window, and click OK Some code text will appear in the dialog box of your post. When you post the message, it will appear as a link.
  22. I never suggested bans for diving, I suggested TV replays so that refs could see if a player was brought down or dived, and react accordingly.
  23. 2 wrongs don't make a right. Just because some motorists take the p!ss (which they do), doesn't make all cyclists angels either.
  24. For once I actually bought a big tub of treats. We were out til about half 6, so may have missed some early callers, but had about 5 lots of kids, all within about half hour, then nothing. Not that I'm complaining, but my teeth will suffer!
  25. I too got your point Mick, I just disagree with it. Until they start using TV replays, refs will get things wrong. Sometimes you can blame them, when they have a good view, and miss something blatant. Sometimes however, they get fooled by cheats, and I think that ex ref was spot on. Everybody goes on about the ref, but nobody is asking difficult questions of the cheat on the pitch. The game is so big these days, it is unfair to expect the ref and his linesmen to see everything, especially given the pace at which the game is played. How good do you think TV analysis would be if they only had the game from one camera angle, at real-time? It would be shite. If Hanson & Co can have the replays for MOTD, why can't the ref on the pitch, where it actually matters?
